The Other White Bread State...Oklahoma overrode the Governor's veto of the anti woman legislation and now this discrimination is law. This law requires women seeking an abortion to undergo an invasive and unnecessary ultrasound and then sit while a doctor explains it to them for at least an hour.

Another clause in this bill makes it okay for a doctor to lie and withhold information about the fetus' health, birth defects, etc...the point being to make the woman go forward with the birth regardless of the consequences. The clause protects doctors from being sued for withholding vital information to the woman.

And there are no provisions of protection for women who have been raped or victimized by incest.

Keep it up out west and the only way I'm gonna get to California from here is through the Panama Canal.

Pigs and Horses Weekend in the Buckeye State

Kentucky Derby-my money's always on the filly...Devil May Care...and I love Mint Juleps...this is my recipe...makes one at a time...or multiply and make a pitcher..up to you

8 mint leaves

splash of spring water

1 ounce simple syrup (see recipe below)

2 ounces Makers Mark or Southern Comfort or bourbon or mash of your choice

Equal parts sugar and water-mess with it til it tastes good to you

Crushed ice.

How to make it:
Put mint leaves in bottom of a rocks (tall ) glass
Splash in some spring water or club soda, if you wish
Mash the leaves with wooden spoon to release the mint oil (this is called muddling)
Pour in an ounce of simple syrup (recipe to follow)
Fill glass with crushed ice
Add two ounces of bourbon
give it a quick stir
garnish with mint leaves
voila!
Simple Syrup: Place one cup of sugar (white or brown, your choice) in one cup of water into a pan and bring to boil. Let boil for five minutes until the sugar is dissolved..let cool..store in fridge.
You can make the syrup ahead of time.

Don't like mint juleps..then go to your wine store and buy a German Riesling..either a kabinett or spatlese for the right amount of sweetness to compliment your food...ribs...chicken...grilled salmon and veggies..

Will get you through the Flying Pig Marathon, too, if you're not running. 15,000 runners taking to the streets this weekend in Cincinnati...some of them wear wings and pig costumes.. some man is supposed to be running in a diaper this year.....a real street party...

On Great White Hopes and the American Way

You knew it was coming, as soon as Phil Mickleson sank his putt on 18 and wrapped up his third green jacket, that the sports writers had found their Great White Hope.

Tiger Woods, the 21^st century Jack Johnson, who dominates the white man's sport, screws his women by double digit numbers, sometimes on the same day, even marries one and figuratively spits on her in the eyes of the world, got his comeuppance this weekend.

He lost...finished fourth....in the Masters.

As soon as Mickleson won, from the mouth of sportscaster Jim Nantz, it became a win for the ages..."that's a win for the family." Nantz said.

Mickleson's wife and mother are both battling cancer....his very blond wife pulled herself out of bed to watch her man win....and he gratefully dissolved into tears, crying into her shoulders.

While Jack, er Tiger's wife Elin...well, she was off in Sweden with the kids and her family...still hiding and suffering from the embarrassment and trauma that her man put her through.

American family values, on display for the world to see. All is now right with the golfing world. Ah, yes, the American way.

Let me say, I don't like Tiger Woods...never did....don't know him, never wanted to meet him...he always seemed very immature, not likeable and very arrogant....not the kind of negativity that I welcome into my world....However.... While I absolutely love his command of the game.... personally, I can leave him on the course when he's done. And I don't feel sorry for him now.

Over the years, as I watched and I saw, or surmised that most of the other golfers on the course with him, felt the same way. Maybe it was the insider knowledge that they had about him. They never seemed to like him...envy him...yes......marvel at him...yes...but like him...don't think so...

You can't make me believe that the other golfers didn't know that Tiger was dropping his pole in every lake he drove by. They were all too quiet during the scandal. Sports among men is all about who's got the best game and the biggest dick. Tiger won on the links and off, apparently.

They knew. They also know without Tiger, they don't make any money, and that is the only real game being played. It didn't help matters that all those women would talk about was how long and how good Tiger hung in, in the sack or on the floor, or in the kitchen or in the front seat of his car in the parking lot.

That just pissed off the masters of the universe even more.

When it comes to big dick heaven most of the guys in the PGA fall woefully short. Their game wasn't even considered a sport until Tiger stepped in and elevated it to NBA levels.

Think about it...how many centuries has golf been played and when did it become a real sport? Is golf more fun in color, with players of brown, black or yellow...or it is more fun in white on white as it was conceived and still dreamed of by the masters of the universe...

Tiger's return, just like his entire life, is all about money, period. So they are very glad he's back. They do need him. But watching him be humbled was the real name of the game this weekend. Tiger had to be made to pay for his surly behavior toward his masters.

Tiger could not apologize enough...this weekend.....could not smile enough or wave enough at the crowds...could not please, the masters of Augusta or the wannabes who write about golf or talk from the announce booth, pontificating over every missed drive or errant putt.

The Billy Paynes of the golfing world were intent on whipping the uppity little black boy, chastising him for his visible disdain for the hallowed halls of Augusta National, with its tradition and foundation forged in the cesspool of racism and misogyny.

Tiger tried....he did penance...he controlled himself to a point....and he lost...playing the game their way...to bolster their egos and to make them feel better and back in control. However, even lowering himself to their level...he played better than 90% of the also rans...the only drama on Sunday was whether or not Mickleson, the designated American great white hope was going to choke, again.

Next time, Tiger surfaces, I hope he plays his game....the cussing arrogant, aloof mufuca who cannot be bowed...he showed glimpses of the old Tiger this weekend.

Honestly...I want that one back on the links. I don't want him channeling his Dad. I want him to channel Jack Johnson. Jack fought every fight in life and the ring, his way.

Tiger should do the same.

A Snowy Day in Nati-town

And our history proves, you know, lots of time when they, you know, the white people come to work in a factory they either want to be supervisors or they want to be, you know, paid more than the average person. Shami also apparently thinks along with the rest of those running for Texas gov, that 9/11 was an inside job.

Maybe America should go ahead and let Texas secede from the Union...ya think..

I never intended to write about Tiger Woods. I have been laughing from day one about this whole situation, especially when word surfaced that he ran out the door, driving away shoeless, as well as police seeking a search warrant for a golf cart along with the clubs, that his wife allegedly used.

I have this picture in my head of a metal breast plated Viking woman, blonde hair flowing in the wind, club held high, driving this golf cart, angrily chasing down her barefoot, Escalade humping husband as he tried to maneuver down the driveway, singing Wagner's Battle Cry of the Valkyries.

Every day this past week has unveiled a new blonde hottie claiming to have had an affair with the great Tiger Woods. This newest one gets me, though. Just like the others she is a cocktail waitress, who is pursued by the golfer, meets him in the parking lot where he either jumps her bones there or takes her back to his house, and who by her own admission, only cares about the “lust,” doesn't practice safe sex and treats her coldly. Yet she says they had an affair. Another one expressed surprise that she wasn't the only one he had, besides his wife, course. Number 2, I think said she was ticked off and came forward because Tiger cheated on her with the first ho....why couldn't he take “ her” to Australia, huh?

Also this morning, white people have glommed onto the fact that Black people don't like the fact that Tiger is color struck...meaning he only dates, screws or marries white women. They are calling us racist and practitioners of a racial double standard.

Well, yeah....

Tiger's womanizing reinforces the second class position that Black women have been in since free Black people came to America...And for those of you historically challenged individuals...free Blacks came here before the slaves were brought here..

For the entire history of Black people in America, the white woman has been held up as the holy grail of what everyone, whites, blacks, Native Americans, Chinese, Samoans, whoever, must have, on their arm, in their bed, or on the side, in order to live the ultimate definition of success in America. That doesn't leave much room for the rest of us women of color. I mean who plays for second place in life? Everyone wants a rich spouse and success and fame and all that other peripheral happy horseshit

White men have always screwed and now are openly dating, marrying and fathering little mixed up babies with Black women, Asian women, any woman they choose....However, when they go into politics, become CEO, or land at the top of the entertainment/sports ladder.. you can bet the woman who is allowed to share that success is usually always blonde, real or bottled...don't make no difference. The two exceptions that I know...Michelle Obama and Janet Langhart. All men are color struck when you think about it. It's not about the women...it's about money, image and perceived success.

White women are always considered a step up in this country, while white men who marry Black or minority are assumed to be getting better sex, but are fucking and marrying beneath their station in life. White women are held up as the beauty standard and many Black women spend their whole paycheck subconsciously emulating some form of that so called beauty standard, failing to see that white women changed the game a while back and started ripping off Black and brown women for their beauty tips.

Remember when Bo Derek wore cornrows in the movies? That's when it got serious.. They used to be covert about it. But now, they plump their lips, get breast implants, shoot silicone in their butts to make them bigger and rounder, like minority butts. Some of them even try to talk and act ghetto....nothing funnier than a white girl doing a neck roll. They are so afraid of the sun and skin cancer that now there is a whole market of bronzers to make them look brown, or some silly form of orange.

While the brown countries around the world are trying to simultaneously turn themselves white skinned in order to get that white man defined good looking man, or woman and money and fame, since the white man's definition of success still is the name of the game, around the world.

The very confused Cablinasian is fucking white girls, but he married the whitest of the white that he could find, a Swede..and a rich one at that. And he is even willing to fork out 80 million dollars to keep his fantasy of supremacy over white guys in tact. After all, he has conquered their sport, is responsible for them getting paid, too...taken all the money...and taken their women...Numero Uno...King of the World, Ma!

Because the game is not really about women. Women are the pawns in the game of success and money. They are the arm candy, the bauble, the sign of success. The bank account is the real prize. Besting white guys at their own game is the platinum ring.

Beat the Masters of the Universe and you become a god.....roundly celebrated... worshipped....but universally despised behind doors...

Tiger's Dad figured that out and taught his kid to live the fantasy...

And based on what his fuck-buddies say, he screws like he plays golf, cold and calculating with amazing course management, apparently upping the anti through unsafe sex.

I'd even bet my mediocre paycheck that nearly all of his fuck rounds come in under par, too.

I can't imagine how some Black people come to this point. Do they actually believe that their “fellow” protestors see them differently...

Do they actually believe that because they stand up along side their “fellow” protestors and rail against the half Black man in the White House, that this will save them, once the shooting starts?

Maybe they've never had a friend or two turn on them...sometimes in alleged playfulness...

Maybe he is just one of the guys among his friends and at work...

Maybe he's never been disrespected by cops at a traffic stop in his neighborhood, or pulled out of his house in handcuffs or beaten in his own driveway..

Obama Hatin’

The very people who are holding out for a Johnny Mac victory on Tuesday, are the same ones who will tell you that Phil Mickleson is a better golfer than Tiger Woods.

They refuse to see what is right in front of them. Mickleson consistently loses to Woods because he is not talented enough in his entire game, he is not smart enough to out think Woods around the course, nor is his game plan any good on any given day. Mickleson trusts too much of his game to luck. Most importantly, he does not believe in himself. Woods is a showman, yes. But he is methodical, powered by a killer instinct and knowledge of what he has to do to win. Some days he just plays, other days he has to grind..whatever works, to win. And most importantly, Woods knows that no matter how he plays, that he will win, period.

Woods has singlehandedly transformed the sport of golf, right down to the way his competitors treat their own bodies. The day of the out of shape dough boy golfer is over.

Obama is the same. His inner calm shows that he, too, has an incredible belief in himself and his abilities. His speeches are merely the flourish, the icing on the cake, that covers a very solid plan and ground game. He has literally transformed the way campaigns will be run in the future. He has shown the experts just how to raise money to fund a campaign from the ground up. His game plan was brilliantly simple...put the organization of volunteers and paid workers in place during the primary season in every state, not just the blue ones. By the time Obama won the nomination, it was business as usual for his campaign. They just kicked it up a notch, quietly and effectively.

The allegation that Obama has no executive experience is just plain dumb. Look at his campaign organization. Thousands of people, both paid and volunteer, working smoothly and efficiently. Much better than a number of corporations that I could list. He literally steam rolled every other professional politician who was in the game this time around. And they never saw him coming.

The fact that he refused campaign financing was the only way to go. You can’t beat the man playing his game, by his rules, with his equipment, on his court. You have to change the game. The Chicago Bulls couldn't win a championship with Michael Jordan until they learned to play Detroit Piston Basketball. Then it was game over. Obama has learned to play the game by looking at the mistakes of his predecessors, and by improving upon their technique.

Last but not least, Obama is in front. The polls say he is going to win. I hope he is like that other front runner that I have been talking about. Woods never loses holding the lead going into Sunday. The other golfers make it easy by usually throwing in the towel or choking, game over, Woods wins.

The McCain campaign has gone way past dishonorable. Now it’s just bald face lying to the public, about anything and everything, throwing it at Obama in hopes that some of the mud will stick. McCain hasn't thrown in the towel, publicly. But I think he’s choked, badly. And it happened a couple of months ago....enter Lady Sarah.

Let’s hope that Obama’s hide is made of TEFLON and that he is comfortable with his front runner status. I suspect that he is. His calm, tells me that he is okay, and that this marathon is almost over.

Somebody cue the fat lady....

Tiger, Tiger Burning Bright.........

Even if Tiger does lose the playoff, this past weekend will stand as one of those incredible moments in sports.

Saturday, young Eldrick finished eagle, birdie, eagle to take the lead. Sunday, he gave it back on the first hole. And up until the 18th hole, he played like I could beat him, easily. He was that bad. But then, the 18th came around again. Tiger birdied the final hole to tie.

Being a golfer, I can’t believe he meant to hit his first two shots on that par five. They were lousy to say the least. I mean, I would have taken them, because I’m not a golfer with Tiger Woods ability. I just love the game, so advancing the ball by any means possible, is generally what I do on the golf course.

But not Tiger. He’s trained us to expect massive fades, towering hooks, stingers off the tee. His approach is perfect, placing the ball exactly where he wants it, in order to attack the hole. He reads the green the way I read the newest James Patterson novel. I look at the green and see grass, not a trench leading to the cup. If I had putted that last putt...the way it danced and wiggled and lipped into the cup...it would not have gone in, period. I would have finished second, end of story. But Tiger’s ball...jumps, bumps, takes two spins around the lip and then buries itself into the cup. Unbelievable!

He scrambles a lot more than it seems, because sometimes his shots don’t work. He is extremely versatile. When he does get lemons, he makes lemonade...a delicious blend of yellow fruit with a little rum mixed in.

I watch Tiger just to learn how you’re supposed to play, to give me a mental picture of what I’m supposed to do when I hit the greens.

You know you have to visualize the shot in order to pull it off. I have to watch Tiger’s perfect shots, as well as his not-so-perfect shots. attempt to practice them and then attempt to visualize them, then attempt to pull them off.

This has worked for me with my wedges. But I’m ready to get rid of my driver. I think drivers are for men. I use a fairway seven and get great distance. I need more focus on my irons. They’re not bad, just inconsistent. Guess I need to play more often. If only I could afford to play more often.

But back to Tiger. I don’t know if he’s gonna win today. He should. Rocco Mediate is ranked 158th in the world, but he is loose and has nothing to lose and that is the most dangerous kind of opponent.

Any given Sunday or playoff Monday....anything can happen. I think inwardly Rocco’s glad he’s only facing a one legged Tiger instead of the predator that we all know young Eldrick to be.

Bush loses brain...so what else is new....didn’t know he had one to lose in the first place. Really, now, Karl Rove is resigning effective August 31st. The architect of this most recent political disaster is stepping down to pursue other adventures. Probably going to hook up with Fred Dalton Thompson for a presidential run...

Found out something new today...Rove never graduated from college...any college. Gee, wonder how far the rest of us would get in this world without a diploma or without the sponsorship of one of the scions of America’s first family....always separate and never equal when it comes to the masters of the universe...

Mitt Romney won the straw vote in Iowa this past weekend....He got a whopping 3500 votes with Huckabee coming in second and Brownback coming third....any minorities cast votes....any women other than GOP stepford wives? Just asking....

Tiger won another major....I was glad that the other golfers, specifically Ernie Els and Woodie Austin didn’t fold down the stretch and actually made a run at Young Eldrick...It’s good to know that some golfers are finally finding their balls someplace other than the bottom of their golf bag.
He needs the competition...We need the competition...I’m tired of the parades of adoration...If golf is a sport...then let the combatants act like it for a change....

Rhythm, Race and Politics

I guess I should be happy that finally, America is talking openly about race. We’ve got new laws and resolutions to ban the “N” word. We’ve got re-enactments of bloody Sunday down in Selma, recalling the events that culminated in the passage of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

We’ve got blogs and news programs and major magazines debating whether or not Obama is black enough and accepted by “real black” Americans. Others want to know if Hillary and her card carrying black man of a husband will steal the White House away from the “blood born” black man that is Barack.

We’ve even got the Cherokee Nation kicking out the descendants of their slaves because they are not Native American by blood. Yes, Native Americans owned black slaves, in case that lesson was omitted from your history book. And up until yesterday, the slave descendants were considered part of the Cherokee Nation. The vote to rescind tribal membership was 76 percent in favor. Some are calling the vote racist. Others say it is self determination.

This Obama thing is funny. For most of this country’s history, what defined people as black was “one drop” of black blood, never mind what the skin color was. Obama is fully 50 percent black, so what is the problem? He looks black. He married black. His kids are black. He goes to a black church. Black man!

If white supremacists ever kick off their racial holy war, Obama will be right there next to Tiger Woods getting his head blown off with the rest of us obviously real blacks. So why question his ethnicity now when he’s running for president? Unlike young Eldrick, he doesn’t appear conflicted about who he is, so why should we be?

Anyone remember the Rainbow coalition. Jesse Jackson used to tell us that there were 64 shades of blackness. Black people, Jackson used to say, come in all colors and shades.
African Americans are a living, breathing rainbow. Obama is one shade of that rainbow.

Again I ask, what is the problem? Maybe it’s because he doesn’t feel black. Bill Clinton feels like a black man even though he isn’t and that is hard to explain. There is a rhythm to blackness... a musical....lyrical way of reacting to and within the universe. I’ll be honest, I don’t feel that rhythm with Obama. But I do feel that rhythm with Bill Clinton. I don’t feel that rhythm with Hillary Clinton. Hillary is a white girl, brilliant, but rhythm-less. Clarence Thomas is very obviously a black man. But he is rhythm-less and clueless and I’m not feeling him at all.

But my feelings don’t make Obama any less black. I can still relate to the brother and I suspect that most of my fellow blacks can too.

Now can we get on with the real issues of this campaign?

Equal Pay for Equal Work

Well, it’s about time. The Brits have finally decided to award equal prize money to men and women at Wimbledon this year.

The old boys of All England Tennis have refused for years to give women their just due, saying that men deserved more prize money because they play five sets while the women play just three.

All grand slams are now on the same page, sort of.....The French always seeing things differently only give the male and female champions an equal check. Other women from second place down will still get less than their male counterparts.

Now it’s time to work on Golf. While Tiger Woods is making millions per tournament, the women of the LPGA are left to split maybe a one million dollar kitty. That means the winning check is usually just a couple of hundred thousand dollars instead of multi millions.

And lest we forget the WNBA. Those women must still play overseas in order to supplement what they make in the American league. All this while the men pocket millions, destroy the game and, other than the all star game, don’t offer any real entertainment.

Bad news...the Anna Nicole reality show goes on. Please bury this woman before she melts on the coroner’s autopsy slab.....Please...take that baby away from Howard Stern....and Please...send her mother home without the body..
