50th Anniversary March is History-Now What?

Been working all day trying to come up with a word to describe how I feel, now that The People's March honoring Dr. King and his “I have a dream” speech is done. I've come up with several actually. However the one that sticks out is “empty.”

It's done, we marched, we shouted, we sang, we cried, we vented, some of us shared our memories of the first march, many of whom, like me, were alive, but too young to take part. Others who took part, wanted and desperately needed to recapture the moment. We needed to feel the energy. For whatever reason, we were compelled to be there. We needed to believe we were making a difference, again, and that people were listening to us, and that great things such as the 1964 Civil Rights Act were just around the corner, maybe this time signed by a Black President. That would truly be history and fulfillment of the dream as well as a direct answer to those determined to resurrect Jim Crow and nullify the rights of all minorities once again.

Instead we were met with massive yet lackadaisical security, good in some areas (snipers on the roof), not so good in others. None of it was people friendly. For instance, can someone tell me the purpose of shutting down the Martin Luther King Memorial before the march. Why? Don't the people have the right to gaze at the people's pastor? The people were made to stay far away, from the MLK statue and the Lincoln Memorial for that matter, reduced to watching massive TV screens erected to make the small figures of lesser men and women addressing the crowd look bigger. Everything the people faced in the park was the antithesis of what Dr. King stood for during his lifetime. The iron gated crowd barriers enforcing a metaphorical segregation, erected to control a population desperately hungry for change, but not allowed by law to participate. The march itself a hollow shadow, filled with empty symbolism. No passion, no feeling. Some wanted to sing “We shall overcome” others, and there were many, myself included who never want to hear that song sung again. Many feel that “Fight the Power” is a more appropriate 21st Century anthem. But regardless of what we sing, we ain't there yet and it was painfully obvious on Saturday.

We the people are at a crossroads. The giants who led us are passing on, while those who would replace them can't measure up, being more content to nurture their “look” rather than actually get down and dirty into the trenches of real leadership. It's easy to talk up a commemorative march from the bully pulpit of a cable television network, but it's another thing altogether to walk in the shoes of Dr. King or Reverend Shuttlesworth, or Reverend Abernathy, or Fanny Lou Hamer or Ella Baker or Bayard Rustin or Harry Belafonte or Charleton Heston, James Baldwin or Marlon Brando. (Denzel Washington did Emcee part of the show.)
Toure

There were no Kings or Queens on stage this day. Maybe that will come with the scheduled commemoration on Wednesday with no less than four living American Presidents in attendance. Instead of a people's march, it will be the official commemoration. Church bells are set to ring at 3pm, the time Dr. King began to speak so long ago and when President is set to begin his remarks. Maybe the movie stars and other celebrities who couldn't make it on the people's weekend will make a charity appearance to stand with Barack Obama our first avowed Black President.

I just wonder if any of the people, Dr. King's people, the now grown up little boys and little girls will be there to hear him talk.

The 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington-Segregation Then, Segregation Now, Segregation Forever

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation
where they will not be judged by the color of their skin,
but by the content of their character." -
Martin Luther King

It's disconcerting to me to juxtapose the words of Martin Luther King with a paraphrase of the words uttered by segregationist George W. Wallace. But this is the way my mind works when thinking back over the 50 years since the first March on Washington led by Dr. King back in 1963 and the upcoming events to mark the occasion this weekend.

I was too young, being only 13 years old, to take part in the first march, but I watched the grainy black and white images of that massive crowd on the 6 o'clock news with the same intent that I watched the shows my parents allowed me to watch, back in the day, and time passed. Given the chance, I vowed to go and take part. Make my voice heard.

50 years. Just passed my 63rd birthday and I'm packing for DC. Going to the Anniversary March. Going to stand in front of the Lincoln Memorial with other like-minded people and remember the words of Dr. King. I am geeked about this trip because it's been a long time coming, but instead of total elation, my heart is heavy thinking about it.

I have a dream...”

I think many of us figured the dream would be halfway realized by now, 50 years after the fact. But all you gotta do is to look at the upcoming festivities to understand that Dr. King's ideas are still blowing in the wind.

There is the March on Saturday, August 24th I will call it The people's march. It is expected to be the biggest event since it's on Saturday and most people have the time, and don't have to work. It's a good day to teach history to the kids. The Park police are planning for about 150,000 people, about half of what originally turned out back in the day.

Dr. King actually delivered his speech on August 28th, so some other people and groups have organized a march on exactly the same day, complete with church bells ringing at 3pm and a speech from President Barack Obama, standing in for Dr. King. Obama's speech is supposed to be a grand thing, designed to move us forward as a nation toward the goals espoused by Dr. King back in the day. The main problem with the August 28th event is that it falls on a Wednesday, in the middle of the work week, not exactly designed to be people friendly, is it. I was initially confused by the two different dates with both events calling themselves the Anniversary of the March on Washington. And I'm sure that confusion still exists for others, as well.

Back on Saturday, the 24th, Black conservatives are going to hold their own thing, a breakfast, put together by RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. It is a sit down affair, very dignified, designed to do....well I'm not sure what it is designed to do, since only politicians and their supporters have been invited to participate. People, Dr. King's people, need not apply, it seems.

Here is my problem...

Why three separate events when Dr. King was all about inclusion and equality? Why is Al Sharpton and his National Action Network, joined by the NAACP and a host of other groups marching on Saturday, totally ignoring the group putting together the march on Wednesday that features the first Black President of the United States?

And what better way for the GOP to convince some of us that they really are about inclusion then by taking part in either one of the other affairs?

Segregation then, segregation now, segregation forever, it seems...

Seems like anyone really wanting to honor Dr. King would have had one big people friendly affair in the spirit of the original march.

I have a dream....”

Congressman John Lewis who also addressed the crowd 50 years ago as president of SNCC, the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee said this about Dr. King;

"Dr. King had the power, the ability, and the capacity to transform those steps on the Lincoln Memorial into a monumental area that will forever be recognized. By speaking the way he did, he educated, he inspired, he informed not just the people there, but people throughout America and unborn generations."

I wish that the folks in charge could have understood this and planned their events with the people in mind rather than their own agenda at the fore front. It would have shown that the words spoken by Dr. King that day are honored in spirit, if not in daily practice.

why can't we all just get along?”

What Rodney King said. What Dr. King meant. What will need to happen if we are all to survive.

I have a dream...”

Me too...

Michelle Obama Bitch Slaps Lesbian

Don't you wish Barack could be as free as Michelle when talking to people in public? Yesterday, she took down a lesbian protestor from the group GetEqual while speaking at a private democratic fundraiser that cost $500-$10,000 to attend.  You can read it here. The self identified lesbian protestor started yelling about the need for the President to sign an executive order so she can have her” federal equality” before she dies.

Well, whoopee fuckin' deal. Bitch I been wanting all my life to be equal in my country of birth, get in line. Yelling at the President or his wife would have gotten my black lesbian ass locked up in jail. You just got escorted out which was nothing more than another example of white privilege in America.

And yes, white gays and lesbians are gifted from birth with white privilege which drives this country and protects them from THEIR OTHERNESS until they publicly declare it. My blackness is on full display from jump (that's from the beginning in black-talk), which is why I get arrested and you get sent home to mommy and daddy.

The biggest problem that I have had in this post racial era of Barack Obama, our first black president, is the incredible level of disrespect hurled daily at the President and his family.

It's not just the bigots, the avowed racists who hate everything black or brown. It's the alleged supporters of the Obamas. So called democrats and phoney liberals who feel that they can talk to and treat the first family as any nigga down the block that they happened to run across in the street.

It's not racism, it's white privilege, the same demeanor that makes white people think they can feel my hair or imitate me to my face because they think it's funny and doesn't fit the normal in which they surround themselves.

The Obamas are approachable like no other First family in the history of this nation. But that's only because white people have this idea about how they think “we” are, apparently learned at the knee of their parents, or various blaxploitation movies and TV non-reality shows. Many white people figure all they have to do is learn how to neck roll and talk Ebonics and we will join them in a chorus or two of Kumbaya. Well, the Obamas ain't your regular next door neighborhood niggas. This is America's first family and like it or not, that exalted position demands respect from the rest of us.

It got worse during the confrontation when said heckler, offering up her own explanation of what happened, said FLOTUS “surprised her by getting in her face.” Nigga behavior. Mess with a big black woman and she will git in yo face and stomp yo ass, if you not careful. Never mind that this woman, Michelle Obama is a wife, mother, teacher lawyer and representative of the people of the United States of America. She can write the book on how to influence and deal with people in public. Reducing her to nigga level is flat out white privileged driven bigotry.

A private fundraiser was not the time or place to bring up signing executive orders. Michelle Obama doesn't do that. Her husband does and he wasn't there.

The other thing is that Executive Orders can be allowed to expire, so what difference for Obama to put into place a law that will expire as soon as he leaves office. Given the way things move on Capital Hill, it would probably expire before taking effect.

So basically what was GetEqual doing there in the first place? It certainly wasn't to accomplish anything concrete. Seems like it was merely another chance to take a privilege laden pot shot at somebody named Obama.

Cincinnati Enquirer Wants Mitt Romney to Take Back Their Country

Obama took office in January 2009 as the nation’s economy was imploding. That year alone, 4.7 million U.S. jobs were lost and the unemployment rate ballooned past 10 percent. The president can’t be blamed for that. In fact, he and his administration took bold action to prevent further disaster.-Enquirer Editorial Board

First they compliment the President, then they slap him down by handing their endorsement to Mittens. You can read the whole thing here.

The Enquirer's main problem with Obama, it seems is that he didn't solve ALL PROBLEMS IN HIS FIRST FOUR YEARS. That's it. Didn't work fast enough, apparently implying he was too busy shuckin and jivin to get the job done. If you've paid attention to GOP talking points for the past couple of years, then there is no need to read the editorial.

The editorial goes on to say that the country is in danger of sliding back into a recession and therefore needs Mitt Romney to steer it the rest of the way, back to prosperity. In other words, Mitt will take back the country and all will once again be “white” with the world.

I stopped reading the Enquirer a long time ago primarily because the people who run this sorry excuse of a newspaper write as if they never look out of their windows and see the architecturally beautiful city surrounding them. Cincinnati is in the midst of a construction boom...houses and businesses are jumping. There is a Casino going up. The Banks have taken off. There are Black and Latino restaurants opening up downtown. Amazing. But this stuff would never happen if someone other than Barack Obama was in the White House. It would not have happened with a president Romney based on his proposed policies and spending cuts.

And yet, this GOP controlled paper says Mitt is the answer? Please! And please, let's not discuss the re enslavement of women as proposed by the Republican party. This from a paper where two out three on the editorial board were female at birth.

And no mention of how Mittens would handle the wars, or take care of our returning Vets. Guess The Enquirer doesn't give a damn about them either.

The vacuum that these folks write and exist in is overwhelmingly white, suburban and republican, minorities need not apply, ever. If you read the Cincinnati Enquirer on any given day, you would have no clue that anyone other than conservative catholic white people live here, ever.

Been that way all six decades of my entire life and I keep wondering why I still get mad about it.

The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over and over, expecting different results.

Time I followed my own advice.

Vote responsibly between now and November 6th.

Co-signing Crazy-Women in Mitt Romney's New America

12 days before election day and a poll says “white married women” support Mitt Romney over Barack Obama by 20 percentage points.

Honestly?

Are there enough of them to turn the election in favor of Mitt Romney allowing him to “take back his country?”

Because from my standpoint, that just doesn't make sense. Even if there are enough to turn the election away from Barack Obama, who in their right mind wants to live in Mitt Romney New America, where women are not people, Hispanics have been sent back to Mexico whether they are Mexican or not, and Blacks have been put back in their place, quiet and humble, longing for those happy days on the plantation, where shuckin and jivin and singing “Cum by ya” took up the bulk of the day.

People” are free in America. Our Constitution says so. We control our bodies. We make our own decisions. We choose where and when to work and make money to finance our very existence. We decide when to get married, when to divorce and when to have children. We, men and women, anyone born on American soil or naturalized on American soil are people.

Unless you're a woman....Then all of those decisions are to be made by the men of Mitt Romney's New America, who have decided that they can just cut to the chase, skip the messy and bloody “born” part of the scenario and go straight to conception, the “wham, bam, don't even have to say thank you ma'am,” part of when egg meets sperm.

They, meaning the masters of this universe, have given a bunch of cells inside a woman's body all the rights and benefits of the Constitution of the United States of America. They want to bless it with legitimacy courtesy of the 14th Amendment. Free them just like the Emancipation Proclamation says to do with slaves. Full and complete person-hood as soon as it becomes a possibility...not even a functioning possibility....not even a visible or viable possibility.

Before a woman can even feel that she has sparked life of her own volition, or been forced into it by some horny male, relative or stranger, or friend, doesn't matter, all it takes is somebody born with a dick, who is not shooting blanks, and suddenly that woman ceases to become people. They have written it into their party platform...so let it be written...so let it be done. Ahhhhhh Moses!”

Even a rapist retains rights over the woman's body, by legally controlling the fruit of the crime, namely the baby created. True in 31 states in America and now the GOP party platform of Mitt Romney.   Forever beholden to a man, for her life.  Comply or go to jail with no get out of jail card provided...Gotta do something with all those private prisons now that Blacks are being set free to repopulate the inner city ghettos.

And reportedly, 20% of white married women have co-signed off on this shit.

Really?

What about the rest of us...the nonwhite..non married..not buying the bullcrap others who also, at least for right now anyway,  have the right to vote? Just askin...

Even their holy book, their bible, the one they keep pretending to quote from, says life begins with first breath, not conception. Says it a couple of times. But then who really reads the bible, anyway.

And in a Mitt Romney New America, which bible will be the religious book of record? The Book of Mormon or the Books of King James or The Catholic Church's version of Christianity complete with all of it's anti female trappings.

Does it really matter? No, all that really matters in Mitt Romney New America, is that men control the universe in which women reside, quietly, providing sex, companionship, free housecleaning and babysitting when the masters need such things.

I'll bet all those white married women will even be happy to step aside when the master of the universe decides he wants a newer, blonder, replacement. And they will understand when he doesn't have the money to support his older progeny he sparked with her. She has a pared down government safety net, hanging by a thread to help her through the tough times, until she finds another master to take over her care, watering and feeding.

And with all those women needing a roof over their heads, can Polygamy be far behind in a Mitt Romney New America?

Questions...questions...

Well, one thing that is for certain in a Mitt Romney New America, all this happy horseshit about smaller government, less government meddling in personal lives and separation of church and state will no longer be an issue.  Ayn Rand will be so happy, dancing in her grave.

Solved...”Have a question or comment about your woman, dog or fixed bayonet?...take it up with the Bureau of Women, Fertility, Four legged Companions and NRA Weaponry located on the first floor of the Capital Building just off the Rotunda....speak to the first female or gay guy you see dressed in a blazer-bow tie, pinafore and/ or chastity belt..... and you have a good day!”

The money for this message donated by Crossroads GPS, American Prosperity and sanctioned by the Committee to elect Mitt Romney permanent president of the new USA.

I'm Not Voting for Steve Chabot or Jeff Sinnard. But I am Going Green and Voting Rich Stevenson

While I know that most of the people who live in the First Congressional District of Ohio recognize the name of their current representative, I would venture to guess, that like me, they don't know who the hell Jeff Sinnard is or what he represents.

Chabot is the perennial representative, off and on, since 1994, who managed to sneak back into office in 2010, when folks simply decided not to vote thereby allowing for the teabag takeover that has wrecked Congress for the past couple of years. Chabot was a part of that.

His signs are up (same signs) and his television ads have started running again and other than the fact that he has changed the color of his shirt, nothing has changed. Same words, same GOP trickle down bullshit talking points. Same mom and apple pie, fake patriotic stance that motivates his base. Same comb-over. Same no show in the neighborhood.

The only time that you hear Chabot's name is at election time. Sponsoring legislation to help his district is apparently not a part of his job description. Although he has co-signed onto every single one of the 55 anti choice and anti women's health laws that have run through the 112th. He has voted against all Veteran's Bills and all Jobs Bills. He sits firmly along side John Boehner and the other do nothings on Capital Hill.

One would think that this kind of record would motivate Democrats to find a viable candidate to oppose this walking waste of oxygen. So what do Dems do? They run a Jeff Sinnard, probably a party faithful, looking to go big time, with no skills and no track record. There are no yard signs or Sinnard bumper stickers in my hood. There have been no community meetings on this side of town. Nobody in the Obama office is blowing up my phone asking for votes for Jeff Sinnard.

They apparently expect those of us who are also Democrats to support this guy sight unseen. In Hamilton County, running a Jeff Sinnard against Steve Chabot is like throwing raw meat to a lion at the Cincinnati Zoo at feeding time. The Democrats have obviously ceded this election to Chabot. They gave up rather than represent their constituency.

So you know what....I'm not voting democrat in the first congressional district this year. I'm voting for Rich Stevenson of the Green Party. His platform more closely resembles what I would like to see worked on by Congress.

I realize that a third party vote is more than likely a vote for Chabot, but frankly I'm tired of Democrats assuming what my vote is going to be. They haven't been there for me, for a very, very long time. So, I'm done being there for them, because they assume that Black folks like me will vote the party line regardless.

I also like Jill Stein for president, but make no mistake about it, I am voting for Barack Obama for President because I think he deserves to attempt to finish what he has started and because Mitt Romney is a major, major mistake for the country.

However in 2016, Democrats better come correct, because I'm done with Democrats, with Republicans and anybody else who does not have my best interests at heart. 2012 is where I draw the line.

After Obama, I'm no longer a Democrat by default.

So my votes are as follows: Obama/Biden, Rich Stevenson in the First District, No on Issue 1, Yes on Issue 2.

Vote responsibly between now and November 6th

The CEO from Hell and The Bitch Slap Heard Round the World-The Romney, Obama Debate, Number 2..

Mitt Romney, the boss from hell, showed up again last night, but this time when he tried to lie, push and slam his way through the question he got knocked on his ass by The President.

And the suggestion that anybody in my team, whether the Secretary of State, our U.N. Ambassador, anybody on my team would play politics or mislead when we’ve lost four of our own, governor, is offensive. That’s not what we do. That’s not what I do as president, that’s not what I do as Commander in Chief”-Barack Obama to Mitt Romney

If looks could kill, Mitt Romney would have been vaporized by the look in Barack Obama's eyes, at that moment. Candy Crowley would have had to call for the broom in order to sweep up the smoking pile of shit on the carpet where Willard once stood. End of election. End of discussion. It was over at that point.

All Mitt could do was stutter and badly after that exchange. Make no mistake about it, if you didn't know who is the Commander in Chief of the United States of America, you do now.

Romney blinked. He showed that he is not used to being challenged. What he is,  is an excellent salesmen with no people skills in evidence. After more than a decade of running for president this man still has not figured out how to relate to people. It was obvious that he does not consider Barack Obama, nor anyone else for that matter, to be his equal in life and that is his Achilles heel.  In Mitt-world, nobody is equal except  his boys, his sons and the men of his church.

There is a difference between serving the people and ruling the people. Real presidents understand that. CEO's never do. They lord it over their employees and delegate others to do the grunt work. It's not easy governing from the oval office. Sitting in the oval office requires the man to govern for all of the people, not just the 53% with same size bank accounts.

Prior to the debate, all the pundits wondered which Mitt would show up. The guy who walked onto that stage was the bully who led the attack on the gay kid in high school by cutting his hair. We saw the guy who ran away from the Vietnam War to Paris, while taking part in “support the war” demonstrations full of other young cowardly rich boys who used Daddy's means and power to dodge the draft. We saw the guy who has a fantasy island view about foreign policy.

We heard from the guy who delegated the chore of wooing women in this campaign to his wife, someone as haughty in a Marie Antoinette kind of way, as himself. The “binders full of women” comment felt like another blatant lie given his reticence to talk directly to women.

In another caught on tape moment from earlier in the day, we now know that the Mittens has canceled his appearance on The View, tomorrow because he fears talking to the ladies, especially Whoopi Goldberg. During the debate he barely acknowledged the needs of women for equal pay, equal health care and family planning care.

The looks on his face showed he wasn't too thrilled with the very female Candy Crowley doing instant fact checks either. He bull rushed her too, just like he did The President, but she refused to back up, doing her job of wrangling the two men as she was supposed to do.

For the third straight debate, Blacks, lesbians and gays were not in evidence, not even in the audience.

However, despite what the right wing nutcase pundits will say in coming days, the election is over. There is still one more debate to sit through. But essentially, this election is over.

Mitt will have to wait another four years to “take back his compa-er-country.”

Vote responsibly between now and November 6th.

Queen Ann “let them kiss my ass” Romney

I mean, lied about what? This is something he’s been saying all along. This is what he believes. This is his policy, these are his statements," …........"I mean, lie — it’s sort of like someone that’s, you know, in the sandbox that like lost the game and they’re just going to kick sand in someone’s face and say, ‘you liar.’ I mean, it’s like they lost, and so now they just are going to say, OK, the game, we didn’t like the game. So to me, it’s poor sportsmanship.” -Ann Romney to FOX News.

Her majesty, Lady Romney, was talking about President Obama, comparing him to a child in a sandbox. She even called him a bad sport. The layers and levels of total disrespect in that short paragraph are amazing. There has been so much disrespect voiced for Obama that people are becoming numb to further utterances from the batshit crazy crew on the right.

I should qualify that-some white people and younger Blacks are stupefied by the levels of hate. We older Black people have grown up with it. A sad truth, that in this American society, the closer you get to becoming equal, or achieving equality at work, at school or in sports, hate and bigotry increase exponentially, still.

So, really, anything coming out of Queen Ann's mouth should not surprise us. But you know it's really bad when folks start using the “stupid C***” curse! Saw that this morning when I opened up comments on my Facebook page. C*** is reserved for the highest of the high bitches. You really have to piss someone off to be publicly called a C***.

I guess no one in all of her 60 some odd years on this planet ever told this woman to STFU. Bet she doesn't even know what that means, STFU. It's understandable, when your husband makes as much money as Mitt, there is really no one except Mitt himself who can shut you down, you think.

To Ann's mind, he is already king of the world, so why shouldn't she and her brood of Mormon stallions live in the number one house in the universe-The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Mitt wins the White House and Ann Romney's transformation from mousy brown haired catholic college doormat to brassy blond first Mormon first lady of all she surveys would be complete.

SHE-WHO-WOULD-NOT-BE-DENIED doesn't see the lies being told by her husband because she gets what she wants when she wants it. Mitt doesn't bother to lie to her. He simply gives her what she needs or wants, and she thinks that is the way he will govern the country. But in her mind, he will give us deadbeats and victims the kick in the pants, and character building lessons that we need to succeed in life in the same way that Mittens has. Nevermind we had to work from the bottom up-no trust fund ladders in our climb, no sirree.

I'm sure in Ann's mind her Mitt will deliver sweetness along with justice and discipline, just like they raised their five boys, who don't seem to have left home and still apparently live in the basement, coming up to work for their father when he needs to appear American-Family-Dreamish.

He will tell us exactly what we need to hear, when we need to hear it, and that is the problem, Miss Ann. Telling us what we need to hear, when we need to hear it, are called “LIES” in the real world, your majesty.

The truth never bends to fit your idea of reality. It just is, and you, we, all of us have to deal with it.

The truth....Mitt Romney is extremely pro life, meaning he is into fetus worship, meaning he will use all the power of his office, should he get there, to eliminate health care for women. In fact, it's the only war that Romney is comfortable with-The GOP War on Women.

Mitt favors a 20% across the board tax cut for everyone...which if implemented will increase the deficit by 4.9 trillion dollars.

Mitt favors increasing spending for Defense by a couple of trillion dollars in a time when the USA is dialing down it's militarism against the rest of the world. And yes, Miss Ann, the rest of the world thinks Americans are full of blood lust and hate for brown people who have funny names, worship other gods and live in far away places.

Showing them how strong we are, only begets more war like that thing going on in Afghanistan that Mitt refuses to acknowledge or talk about. Makes you wonder, is Mitt afraid of war and battle? Seems that way since he draft dodged his way through Vietnam and ignored every other war or military action in which this country has engaged in for the past several years. The lie in this is that he thinks he wants to be commander in chief...no he doesn't.

The truth was told by Mitt to those people in that dinner down in Florida. Romney and his FLAQ (first lady and Mormon queen) have absolutely no use for nearly half of this country. It is not his job, he said, to care about the 47%. Mitt Romney wasn't lying when he stood there that night.

Trying to convince us that he cares is the biggest lie of all.

Mitt Romney doesn't give a damn about anyone and neither does Miss Ann and they prove it every time they try to talk to regular people like us.

Vote Responsibly on November 6th or before.

Romney, Akin, Ryan, GOP War on Women Continues

Make no mistake about it, the GOP couldn't give a righteous damn about women or their birth control or their health insurance benefits. The only  problem with Missouri Congressman Todd Akin's statement this past weekend was its timing.

He made it during the republican campaign to take back the White House from the Black interloper named Barack Obama, at a time when the GOP is getting ready to once again codify misogyny and blatant discrimination into their party platform, next week during their convention in Tampa.

That is the only reason that Romney hypocritically disavowed it, or that all the two-faced bigwig republican money men disowned Akin, or that other  misogynistic Republican House members denounced him. They don't disagree with him in any way shape or form.

They just didn't like his timing. But they totally agree with him politically, and they are betting that women have such short attention spans that come November we won't give a damn about Akin or the Romney/Ryan "not even for rape or incest" stance either.

Notice that presumptive VP Paul Ryan is very quiet on the subject. He is allowing the “head” of his ticket to talk on the matter. Ryan can't say anything overt because he still believes the bullshit and voted along with 250 other House members to attempt to sponsor or pass into law some 67 measures designed to give government control over women and their bodies. For instance;

1. No Tax Payer funding for Abortion Act
2. Protect Life Act (Let women die Act)
3. Abortion Nondiscrimination Act of 2011
4. Respect for Life of Conscience Act of 2011
5. DC Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act
6. Ultrasound Informed Consent Act

Not one of these bills takes into account the well being of the woman or the circumstances under which she becomes pregnant. The only concern is for the zygote or cell mass inside her body, and only for as long as it is inside her body. Once it's born, screw it, literally. GOP policy.

Raped....doesn't matter, unless the rape occurs at the hands of a doctor using an intravaginal probe...then that kind of rape is okay and legal, right? The republicans still plan to control a woman's right to choose even when she is raped or her health is at stake.

Akin has issued another apology, this one in the form of a campaign ad stating once again that he used the wrong words and really, really, really doesn't harbor any ill feelings against women in general, because after all, he understands how heinous is the crime of rape, and that he is the father of two female children.

Whoopie fuckin' deal...

It's not just Akin...it's Romney, Ryan and the whole of the GOP. It's also 16 blue dog democrats who consistently side with republicans against women. The war on women is real, coming from both sides of the aisle and from both parties. Time to send everybody a message.

Wake up women and vote responsibly in November.

Mitt Romney vs Barack Obama- The Clash of the Titans

So President Obama is beating up on Mitt Romney about his Bain Capital days.

So the fuck what!

For four years, we have watched every one wanting GOP/teabagger cred call Obama names, make fun of his family and disrespect the man to his face.

We have fumed because he is so bent on working with the wing nuts to govern this country, that he seemingly doesn't even flinch when they call him names or shout into his face interrupting the State of the Union Address, for instance.

He has been simply unflappable while standing in the midst of this GOP created shit storm.

For four fucking years, Obama has been Buddha, Gandhi, and Martin all wrapped up in one body.

Smile and turn the other cheek, he's told us and shown us, as we've gritted our teeth hoping for some comeback, like Malcolm or Marcus Garvey.

We've secretly wished Obama had revealed  some Kunta Kinte fight in him.

On day one of his term, the GOP Congressional Leadership publicly vowed to take him out and make him a one term president. These vicious SOB's have laughed off every death threat and slam the neanderthals have dreamed up as a way of denigrating this President and his family.

The GOP has controlled the message....they have lied...they have attacked...they have obfuscated at every given opportunity. As a result there is no governance. There are only 33 attempts to repeal a law they are using for their repeated public flogging of the Prez.

33 times? Isn't that the textbook definition of crazy? Just askin'.

We on the left, call him soft because he won't fight back....because he stands there and takes it and tells us to take it too.

Until now....

President Obama has come out swinging for this election and nobody knows how to deal with it. The silly little pundits are worrying their useless little heads about whether or not the President is being too hard on Willard Mittens Romney. Is Obama being too negative too soon, they wonder out loud.

Again, I say, so the fuck what. Romney started the fight. Let's see if he can finish it. Fuck him if he can't take a joke!

I for one am glad and happy to stand back and watch the man whale on Mitten's white arrogance ass.

It's time somebody bloodied this fool. He isn't interested in running a fair campaign. Romney's sole interest is in being “king of the world.” Period!

Romney used these very tactics to kill his opposition during the republican primaries. When Gingrich and Santorum and Paul et al attacked Romney, He attacked back, with more money and so much negativity they had to back down and run.

Obama is basically using the same tape filled with the same allegations that the other GOP candidates used against Mitt. There is nothing new here.

It's just being used better and more effectively.

President Obama is a different animal. He has the money, he has the time and the best investigators available on earth.

And...unlike Mr. Romney....The President has been vetted..investigated and vetted again and again and again since 2007.

There are no more secrets to find out on Barack Obama. There is just his record as president, which really is not nearly as bad as the teabags would have you believe.

Trust me...despite what they say....they really, really, really don't want to talk about Obama's record of accomplishments these past four years.

So, as Rahm Emanual said yesterday “quit whininn' Romney. Mittens picked this fight.

Romney is the one who has brought back the “willie horton” smear experts to handle his campaign.

And there is an old saying in the ghetto....”Don't start nothin', won't be nothin.”

Romney and the GOP been throwing unanswered punches for four years.

Time for some old fashioned payback.

Step right ova here for yo ass whuppin', Mitt.

We got this...

The Affordable Healthcare Law-Some Plain Talk

I don't know what made Chief Justice Roberts vote the way he did on the Affordable Healthcare case.

Maybe it was like Sophia said in The Color Purple; “Day iz a gawd!”

Maybe his check from Karl Rove and the Heritage Foundation got lost in the mail, while Thomas, Scalia and Alito laughed all the way to the bank.

Or maybe it was as simple as Justice Roberts remembering that he is the Chief Justice of the United States of ALL of America and not just some cantankerous group of ultra conservatives bent on destroying the Republic.

Nobody will ever know unless he opens up about it somewhere in the distant future.

The fact remains, that despite all the newly formed conservative conspiracy theories, Chief Justice Roberts got it right and for that I can only say thank you.

Thank you as a woman, and thank you as someone with a chronic, eventually terminal and pre existing condition. Roberts gave me back my human-ness instead of relegating me to the forgettable statistic column.

Justice Roberts vote finally brought some equality to women. Pregnancy is no longer considered a pre existing condition. Birth control becomes free, just like viagra. Preventative healthcare is moved to the forefront.

Soon, maybe even dental work will become routine for all Americans.

The media and its talking head conservative driven news programs is making much of the idea that now everyone has a new tax to deal with because of the Affordable Healthcare Law....That the penalty is a tax hike that all taxpayers must anti up.....This is simply not true.

The correct analogy is that the healthcare penalty is like the tax on cigarettes or the tax on liquor or the tax on gasoline. This is what Justice Roberts pointed out to the court.

These taxes are only paid by users. In other words...if you smoke cigarettes or drink whiskey or drive a car, then you must pay the taxes to do so.

The same is now true for healthcare.

In other words, you can no longer treat the emergency room as your own personal doctor's office without penalty. You won't pay it when you get treated, but you will pay it on your taxes.

Because everyone needs healthcare...because everyone gets sick...or has an accident..simply gets older...the law states you have to pay for your healthcare, whether it be through buying a plan, privately purchased, through your employer, or through any number of insurance exchanges that are being set up.

If you choose not to buy insurance before you get sick, you have to pay a penalty on your income tax. It's as simple as that. Buy insurance...no penalty...Don't buy insurance..pay the tax..

This tax eliminates the free ride....If you play...you now will have to pay. And since everyone will eventually need a doctor or medical care...everyone pays for his or her own healthcare.

That is all that the Affordable Healthcare Law does. It does not expand government power. Government, as Justice Roberts said, already has and exercises this power.

The other thing that is being overlooked is that most of the Affordable Healthcare Law won't take affect until 2014.

Right now, parents can keep their college age kids insured until they are 26.

Right now, co-pays for preventive care have been wiped out.

Children with pre existing condition must be granted insurance with no expiration date.

Right now, the insurance companies cannot drop you when you get sick.

Seniors get help with their drugs purchases.

And insurance companies are being forced to use the money they collect from us on medical care for us. If they don't...they are required by law to give us back our money in cash.

Those checks are now in the mail.

And despite what the GOP says the plan is working. Ask a doctor or a nurse or someone other than a politician whose only goal is to deny Barack Obama a second term in the Presidency.

Mittons Romney doubled down on his “repeal and replace” position yesterday. He lied to you about what happened with Romneycare in Massachusetts when he was governor.

His program is very successful. Folks in Massachusetts love Romneycare. It was and remains the plan upon which The Affordable Healthcare Law is based.

But he chooses to side with the nut bags...just to get elected President...as if it is his Mormon-given right to lead us. (there is Mormon prophecy that speaks to this divine right to lead)

He.....Mitt Romney is a liar...he lies about healthcare,...he lies about his role in creating healthcare...he lies about his positions on jobs and the economy without telling you what his real positions are...

The whole truth of the healthcare law is that “Obamacare” as the right insists on calling it was modeled after "Romneycare" which was modeled after the 1993 version of the healthcare act that was put forth solely and completely the Republican party.

The individual mandate...the penalty that everyone is bitching about, was a creation of the Heritage Foundation conservative think tank that now fights tooth and nail and buys supreme court justices with the names of Scalia, Alito and Thomas.

The Affordable Healthcare Law is, was and remains a Republican idea, adopted by Mitt Romney when he was a governor, which was then adopted by Barack Obama in his unceasing and suicidal efforts to work with Congress in a bipartisan manner.
Their law...his name... and they don't like it...
It's that simple, really...

Mitt Romney: “Soy Mexicano Tambien”

I'm still waiting for the Mittbot to stand before a black crowd in a real ghetto, somewhere in America and declare; “I am African American, like you.” He never will-set foot into a ghetto or declare solidarity with us, and you can take that to the bank.

Somewhere in the back of his Mormon mind, we still haven't evolved into humanness yet, despite what his church officially says, and it shows in his politics.

Although he did attempt to spit out “who let the dogs out!” while standing uncomfortably amongst a group of young black people one time...No need to bother wooly little black heads with policy matters....just bark out some half assed hip hop song lyrics...that works, right? Yeah right!

But he went before an Hispanic crowd and tried to proclaim himself a Mexican immigrant, just like most of them, which was offensive, in my own personal opinion.

The assumption that all in the room were in fact immigrants is like assuming all Black people were born and raised in the ghetto.

Claiming immigrant status when your family were actually expatriots is doubly offensive.

The Mittbot's white boy privilege was on display once again, and once again, nobody, meaning the mainstream media is calling him on it.

Mittbot is still trying to dance around the President's new policy of not deporting young people who were brought to this country by their parents.

His statement that President Obama hasn't done anything on immigration, is a blatant lie. It is a lie that all Republicans are spitting out in lockstep in order to get the Mittbot installed in the White House.

Truth-and you can look it up: The President's immigration policy is called The Dream Act. It was passed by the House and sent to the Senate where it also passed.

So what happened? Why is it not yet law? Well...

The GOP in the Senate filibustered the law til it died. It has been gridlocked ever since. For those of you who don't know....In order to get a law through the Senate you have to have 60 votes instead of the routine 51 majority...The Dream Act got 55 votes-the GOP filibustered...

This is how the GOP ties up stuff to keep it from passing.

The Dream Act was a bipartisan measure that was killed because the GOP has been playing “kill Obama” since January 2009. They couldn't beat him, so they are using any means necessary to stymie, hinder, embarrass, deny, or stop Obama at every single turn.

As for this damn “Fast and Furious” gun running crap...negro please!

Why is Eric Holder being held accountable for a fake ass program that he stopped? He wasn't running it...Holder didn't create Fast and Furious...Holder put an end to it..

George W Bush's administrative operatives did create it...Fast and Furious was a GOP gun running ploy that blew up in their face..

Yet...somehow....Democrats...Obama and Holder are being blamed..

How is that possible that the GOP has taken a lousy republican idea and sold the brain-dead of America the idea that Fast and Furious is Obama's attempt to repeal the second amendment and pry all their guns from their cold dead hands.

Why is no one standing up and complaining?

Why is no one complaining about the shennanigans of Darryl Issa? This dude is a flat out thug in a business suit....a car thief...convicted felon..sitting in judgment of Barack Obama and his administration.

I have a real problem with that....white boy privilege...everybody else goes to jail...

White boys go to Congress...

And by the way, Mittens....the private sector really is doing fine!

The problem is the layoffs of teachers, firefighters and police that is screwing up the economy...

Chew on that...why don cha...

Health Care Law-Let's Talk About it

Well, the three days of Supreme Court arguments are over, and I wish I felt optimistic about the outcome, but frankly, I'm nervous. The deck has been stacked against we the people from jump and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see this court throw out the Affordable Health Care Law entirely.

Take for example, the individual mandate clause, which has been the main point of contention. The GOP and its teabagger mini-mes refused to even consider it when the measure, now law, was being argued on Capital Hill.

That was particularly strange since it was conceived by the GOP think tank, The Heritage Foundation and promoted by every GOP legislator, including three of the four currently running for president, prior to 2008. One of them named Mitt actually wrote it into his health care law when he was governor of Massachusetts.

You would think that when Barack Obama embraced this singularly conservative republican idea, that the GOP would have happily supported him in the bi-partisan manner of governance.

Did they? Hell no! They've been fighting it ever since President Obama said it was a good idea for the people. Makes ya think, it is not about the law, it's about the Black man in the White House.

And now, it is at the Supreme Court. A Supreme Court where one justice and his wife are actually on the payroll of that same Heritage Foundation, which has argued vigorously in favor of throwing out the individual mandate because it now says its “baby” is unconstitutional.

Question....if the individual mandate is unconstitutional today...why was it not unconstitutional when it was a republican idea?

It's a sure bet that Justice Clarence will do his dirty work behind the scenes because as has become typical, Thomas has not opened his mouth in open court these past few days. If the Justices do strike down the law, Thomas will have earned his tainted lucre.

I'm sure wifey-poo Ginny will be so proud of her man.

So what happens if the Affordable Health Care Law is struck down? Do the Repubs have a plan?

Well, no they don't. Not one of them who has taken to the airwaves to call for the law to be struck down have a plan. They just want it gone.

If it does go...

So does allowing parents to cover their kids on their insurance until aged 26.

So does coverage for children and people with pre existing conditions...insurance will once again be allowed to deny coverage.

So does the Medicaid expansion that was to be used to give health coverage to the 45-million people who don't have it.

So does the mandate requiring insurance companies to use most of the money collected from premiums to go to medical costs for consumers.

So does free contraception, birth control and other preventive services for women.

So do the mandates requiring restaurants and food companies to tell us what it is they put in our food.

Striking down Affordable Health Care means that men can still buy viagra or ciallis....

It means that Congressmen will still have their health care without penalty.

It means that the insurance companies and the drug companies, for that matter will not be reined in on cost, which will go up and up unregulated.

SUPCO has promised to issue its ruling in late June.

I'm not holding my breath.

John Jim Crow Kasich

Let's get right to the point, shall we...

A lazy electorate, impatient and tired of what they perceived as Barack Obama's ineffectiveness in solving their pet causes in the first two years of his presidency, lazily stayed home in droves in 2010, refusing to deploy the only real weapon that a citizen has against its government. Many of you who did vote stupidly voted to put the very people who had pushed America to the brink of destruction, back in power, all because he couldn't get it done fast enough.

And you know who you are...

You actually believed that Barack the magic negro bullshit back in 2008. You expected him to blink his eyes, or wave a magic wand and presto, gay people became equal and marriage material, white people would starting actually liking Black people, the wars would automatically stop, the troops would fly home, the deficit would be fixed and Wall Street would pass out money to everyone, making us all millionaires.

We the people, gave Obama a boat without a paddle inches from going over a cliff and told him to “Get us out of here, quick!”  And some of you didn't bother to try and help him paddle.

The result is not just partial, but complete gridlock in Washington. The mini-minds of the Republican Party have convinced themselves that the 18% who did go to the polls, in the midterm election gave them a mandate to rule the rest of us lazy-ass immature 80%, regressing the country back to a mythical and perverted version of itself.

This mythical version had workers who worked like slaves from sun up to sundown for no money. It had slaves, real ones, happy ones, dragged over from Africa who smiled and buck danced at the first sight of Massa.

It had women whose only roll in life was to please her husband, father, brother and bring children into the world sometimes fathered by their husband, father or brother. But the men folks was happy, and so were the rest of us, they assumed. Everybody was Christian, period.

Cut back to present day 21st Century America, the GOP, with its fake mandate, has declared war on workers with laws such as SB5 in Ohio. They have declared war on women with no less than 44 new laws designed to deny women's rights and keep them under a male thumb.

This GOP has literally redacted the Voting Rights Act for Blacks by changing when, where and how people can vote. They have gerrymandered the voting districts to give Republicans and Teabaggers a better opportunity of winning electoral seats.

HEY JIM CROW, C'MONNNNNNNNNNNN DOWN!

The GOP has declared war on immigrants both legal and illegal. They have decided that the only “child” worth saving is the one still in the womb, with closer resemblence to a frog than a baby. If a woman should happen to get raped by ET, oh well...tough titties..

But it's still okay to execute innocent people...nothing in the constitution prevents it..right Justice Scalia?

The GOP/Teabaggers lied and said they would make jobs, but they've been telling this lie since Nixon was in office. Truth be known these fools have tanked more jobs than they've made these past two years.

It's not just happening in Ohio. The feds have gone to court in Texas to stop Rick Perry's gerrymander of the Lone Star State, whose sole purpose is to deprive minorities of the right to vote. If Perry is doing this in Texas, imagine what he can do if you give him the keys to the White House.

Kasich is attempting the same thing in Ohio, but the Ohio Supreme Court has stepped in and stopped it so far. This is going to force us to have two primaries next year and the GOP is crying foul, because an extra primary will cost $15 mill.

Should'da thought about that before rigging the elections. AND...by the way...the Ohio Supreme Court which called a temporary halt to this nonsense, is all republican with one exception...and if they smell a rat...you know it's got to be a big one...

Texas and Ohio are also joined by the likes of North Carolina, Arizona, and Colorado. In fact every state that had a massive and EARLY voting turnout in 2008 is being gerrymandered by the GOP, as we speak.

Jim Crow is back and dancing a jig on the White House lawn.

So how are they doing it? Provisions that no longer allow early voting on the Sunday before the election. It is estimated that 1/3 of the Black vote came on the Sundays before the election in 2008. Another change...third parties...such as the NAACP and people who help others to the polls...must submit their paperwork allowing them to do this within 48 hours, instead of 10 days or risk having to pay heavy fines. This is another way of killing organizations like ACORN...which was never in the business of rigging elections..proven only after they were forced out of business by the GOP.

This provision is particular has caused the League of Women voters to suspend their voter registration efforts for the first time in 70 years.

It's not just about the Sunday before...it's about early voting in general. Kasich has tried to cut the early voting window in half. He doesn't want blacks to have a chance to exercise their constitutional rights.

Colorado tried to get their counties to declare anyone who did not vote in 2010 as “inactive.” This would mean that an early voting ballot would not be mailed to them, a move that effects the elderly, low income and minority voters.

Let's not forget the new ID laws. It is estimated that the new laws in Alabama, South Carolina and Texas could keep more than 5 million people who voted in 2008, from voting in 2012.

And it's not just minorities....married women who have not changed their surnames on their ID...the elderly who can't get out and may not have updated their ID...people who simply can't afford the cost of a government issued ID are in jeopardy, too.

The fix is in, people. This is election year 2000 on steroids. When the GOP plays to win....they cheat.

But don't take my word for it....look at the justice system...look at what is going on in state governments....look at what is being voted on, on Capital Hill.

Makes ya wanna holla...
