O. J. Simpson is on trial again. Big Whoop!. He and his lawyers are whining because the Simpson jury, this time out, is an all white jury and therefore he can’t get a fair trial because he is not being tried by his peers...
Bullcrap....The only time Simpson remembers that he is black is when his ass in trouble, then he high tails it back to us. He lives white, sleeps white, plays white ever since he won notoriety as a football player. Simpson obviously doesn’t live as if blacks are his peers, so why should we sit on his jury?
He is being tried by his peers. Karma, baby...it is definitely a bitch!

I slept through a hurricane today as the high winds of Hurricane Ike rushed through the Midwest on Sunday. My upside down day ended at six thirty am and after a little writing time, I laid down and went to sleep only to be awakened by the stirring of my dogs who were upset at noises outside our windows. Seems the winds were kicking up at about 70 mph and had flung my storage shed into the back of my house. Coming fully awake, I had no power, but neither did anyone else on my block. Everyone was out on their front porches, just watching the weather pass by. We were lucky, there was no water with this storm, just wind. But reports said 850,000 people, or 90% of Duke energy customers lost power in one fell swoop.
I have two porches, one up and one down. I was initially on the upper one, but decided to retreat to the lower one after watching the power lines strain against the winds. I could picture them snapping and me getting trapped or worse on my balcony.
So I went downstairs and outside. My neighbors and I watched and waited, helplessly. We watched trees fall across the street....I live in the second oldest neighborhood in Cincinnati, where the trees have been towering since the early 1800's....My house is more than a hundred years old...so you can understand why the trees fall here....makes you nervous.....saw dirt devils filled with debris dance down the hill in front of us...little swirling tornadoes, that we were checking to see if some of the stuff caught up, belonged to us...
The kids down the street recovered my dogs’ wading pool. The dogs like water and playing in water. I drain it periodically to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs and hatching. So the pool was empty when the winds scooped it up from my backyard.
In between the wind gusts, it was actually a pretty nice day going......no rain...just wind and stuff flying through the air. I could tell that some of my neighbors to the west of me, lost their roofs. I also saw several gasoline cans and a couple of old blankets....some garbage cans, plastic grocery bags and lawn furniture...... kind of a flea market put on by mother nature parading past my house..
Power outages always make me feel helpless. My first reaction upon waking up is usually hunger and I have an electric stove, which means I can’t cook....no charcoal, so no grilling, even if I wanted to....so I did the next best thing...went back to bed to wait for the power to come back on...
It did....about 12 hours later...I have to wait until daylight to see if I’ve sustained anymore damage then my storage shed....the winds are gone...crickets are back.....replaced by 50 degree temps....great for sleeping...except now I’m awake.....
"McCain has gone in his ads one step too far, and sort of attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100-percent-truth test," said Rove. "Both campaigns ought to be careful about... there ought to be an adult who says: 'Do we really need to go that far in this ad? Don't we make our point and get broader acceptance and deny the opposition an opportunity to attack us if we don't include that one little last tweak in the ad?'"

Cow’s Out...Why Close the Door
Yesterday’s announcement by the Food and Drug Administration, that cloned meat is safe to eat, is kind of like shutting the barn door after the cow’s already escaped. We’ve been eating cloned meat for several years now, according to some Kansas farmers who know where of they speak. These farmers have publicly admitted selling semen from their own cloned bulls on the open market, (www.washingtonpost.com).
The USDA has asked these same farmers to keep meat from cloned animals off the market. Not because they don’t think it’s safe, but because they think the market is not ready for cloned Mcburgers. A recent survey showed that only 22 percent of Americans like the idea of eating cloned beef, chicken or pork. That same survey shows that cloned anything is an even tougher sell in the rest of the world.
James Greenwood, who is president of the Biotechnology Industry Organization, is quoted in today’s Washington Post as saying that cloning is simply a way to make offspring, like in vitro fertilization or artificial insemination.
He may be right, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to jump at the chance to eat it. I’d go vegetarian but farmers have been cloning plants for a couple of hundred years now...After all, what do you think a “hybrid” plant, is?
Maybe it is time to start growing my own.

Does he understand why he, Huckabee is as dangerous as the current president of Iran or any of the Sheiks of Saudi Arabia?

Did you hear the verbal smack down delivered by the Lady Judge in Las Vegas to OJ Simpson? She jumped all over him today, talking to him as if she was chastising her two year old. I hope they put it on Youtube for all to see.
The bottom line is Juice did not get his "get out of Jail card." She even upped the bail on him.
I'm perplexed...is he really that stupid...Must be...He is still in jail. I don't understand it...OJ beat the system...He should be out playing golf....Seems like the man is a spotlight junkie....
Time to let go OJ and fade in the sunset, Please!

Questions, Questions, Questions!
Where in the world is Condi Rice? Isn’t she the main United States diplomat in charge of making things better in the world politically between our enemies and us? Why isn’t she over in Iraq attempting to bring calm from chaos?
It was reported that she has been seeking an interview with the Pope and got turned down. He reportedly didn’t want to interrupt his vacation just to see her. We aren’t at war with the Vatican, so why visit him when there are plenty of other people in need of our attention? Who needs a new photo op? Just asking.

And all that happy horsesh*t about drawing down troops....please....my nephew got shipped out to Iraq last Friday. He is a marine and I’m pissed and getting madder everyday that this quagmire continues unabated.

The lynching of Orenthal James Simpson is in full swing....don’t get me wrong...the man killed his ex-wife and her friend...he is a self centered, violent sociopathic egotist of the first order...so arrogant that he continues to surround himself with walking Nicole look alikes and expects everyone to bow down in his wake.....But this whole Las Vegas thing is feeling like a set up....A tape is made in the process and ends up on the internet the next day....c’mon...
I have no sympathy for this man. Justice was not served the last time he was on trial....He literally got away with two murders...white people, it seems, are divided into two camps..there are those who want their pound of flesh...and those who continue to support this walking train wreck called Juice. Black people continue to support him because he is black...that is not enough...he is a bad man...who continues to thumb his nose at the black community until he “needs” us.
If he goes to jail...I prefer to think of this as a Karma smack down...He does deserve to be locked up...but it still won’t bring Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman back...

Donovan McNabb says white quarterbacks are treated differently than black quarterbacks...did he lie? NO! He did not. Carson Palmer keeps hanging his receivers out to dry...what’s it gonna take for someone to notice....TJ or Ocho Cinco in the hospital or paralyzed from a mid air hit by a defender? If Donovan did that..he would be highly criticized and maybe even yanked from the game. Up until a few years ago black quarterbacks were routinely switched to wide receiver because it was commonly thought that we weren’t smart enough to direct things...hmmmmm!
Which reminds me of an old saying....”the only sport or position that we (blacks) can’t play is the one we haven’t tried, yet.”

The Ballad of Jeff and OJ
Big bad restauranteur Jeff Ruby sidled up to big bad former football player OJ Simpson and told him to get out of his restaurant. It happened in Louisville this past derby weekend. Sounds like a scene out of the movie HIGH NOON. Ruby in the white hat confronted the accused-murderer-judged-not guilty, black hat wearing Simpson and reportedly said, “I’m not going to serve you!” And as the story goes, OJ meekly gathered his party of twelve, tucked his tail between his legs and left the premises amid a standing ovation for the bravado of the seemingly heroic Jeff Ruby.
Today we hear from Simpson’s attorney that the eviction was for racial reasons only and that OJ may sue. Ruby’s retort is that he was merely seeking some justice for Ron Goldman’s family.
I have mixed feelings about this alleged incident. Jeff Ruby owns many restaurants in and around my city. In the black community his rep is a bit tarnished. Seems every time there is a “black” event downtown, like the Jazz festival or black family reunion, Mr Ruby is known for closing his restaurants to take “inventory” or “vacation.” He has even been picketed for such actions in past years. He always denies the allegations, because “some of his best friends are.......” He does know a lot of black athletes and in other times, Ruby and Simpson would be photo op buddies, with Simpson gifted with tab at all Ruby establishments.
But if the closing incidents had happened only once, I would say, well, maybe coincidence, bad timing on the part of the restaurant. After all, what businessman closes his doors to making money? But it keeps happening and he is not the only one downtown who reacts like that. But they say, they’re not racist, just, well...I don’t know how they alibi themselves. I don’t patronize people who obviously don’t want my money.
Anyway, back to OJ. I am totally convinced he killed his ex-wife. He is reprehensible. I don’t understand how he could even have an entourage of twelve people who want to have dinner with him. I wouldn’t want him in my restaurant either. But I would serve him if he showed up. He was found not guilty. He is protected by double jeopardy laws.
