Debate a talk show host?!
Rush Limbaugh, the hill billy heroin using, viagra popping, red light district cruising, 100 million dollar walking waste of oxygen....
Please!
Obama can’t bend down that low!
In his whole life Obama has never even accumulated that much dirt on the bottom of his shoes...
Rush and the rest of his crowd keep forgetting.....Obama won the election.....He can do whatever he wants to do...He don’t have to run it past Rush, the self proclaimed great white hope for old white men..
....He has to deal with "we" the people.....
The polls show that only 14% of Americans like Rush...that means 86% of us support Obama....I don’t even understand why anyone is bothering to even include this guy in the conversation except as a joke....
This is the second time in two weeks that the Gay Old Party of which Rush is a card carrying member....has insulted the President...
The first was Michael Steele....who wants to hip hop the Republicans....
Question....when was the last time you heard Obama use street language in order to get his point across? I don’t know how he talks among his friends..but I do know that when he talks to America, he comes correct....
Take a lesson Steele....What Steele said is racist....period....if the president were white...there would be absolutely no one putting GOP, hip hop and urban in the same sentence.
Hell, if truth be told....if Obama hadn't won the election...there would be no Michael Steele or Piyush Jindal being touted as the saviors of the GOP.
Steele insulted not only the President....but the rest of America as well...
Hey mikey...hey rush...apologize !
Rambling opinionations from a vertically challenged, butterscotch shaded, newly minted senior citizen.

The Fat Lady is Tuning Up
She won’t be singing until November 4th, but she is beginning to clear her throat. The first word that comes to mind tonight was not presidential with regard to John McCain. It was condescending. But I’m gonna back off and exhale. We’re closer than we’ve ever been and like Obama tonight, we all need to keep our cool and get our collective butts to the polls and cast our votes, to make this man president of the United States.
McCain threw the kitchen sink at him tonight. He brought up Bill Ayers, which was a tactical mistake if you know anything debates. He started talking about his plans and possible programs but then fell back to his old attack lines. Lines so familiar by now that I could’ve parried them without breaking a sweat.
Tonight, it wasn’t Joe Sixpack. It was Joe the Plumber. And here, McCain made another mistake. He screwed up the guy’s last name, not good on TV. That’s always an indication that you haven’t fact checked yourself.
McCain had more passion tonight. Several times it looked as if he was gonna cry, especially when he talked about Congressman John Lewis’ statements last week. Lewis, you will recall, took McCain/Palin to task for demagoguery, harking back to the days of George Wallace, the segregationist who ran for president. I guess he was angry, taking Lewis' comments personally, since he said previously, that Lewis was one of his heroes. McCain wrote in his memoirs that when he was a little kid, if he got mad he would throw himself down on the ground and hold his breath until he passed out. That's what it looked like tonight, many times, except he didn't push himself to pass out. It's tough when your hero takes you to the woodshed for stuff you said.
McCain was also given a chance to defend his vice presidential choice. He said she was a great politician, a great reformer, but I never heard him answer the question, which was....Is his VP ready to step in and lead the country. McCain kind of talked around that, never actually endorsing his VP.
Another thing....is one of Palin’s kids autistic? McCain mentioned that a couple of times. You would think that he would know that, given all the thought he put into selecting Palin.
I thought he also blew it with the base when he said he would not use the litmus test of abortion in making his judicial appointments. Obama danced around that one too. Not around a woman's right to choose, but whether or not he would use the litmus test to select judges.
John McCain needed a knockout tonight. I’m a boxer’s brat and one thing I know about fights is that you can’t decision a champ. McCain did not get his knockout. In the end he just kind of faded, tired and out of shape.
I would have like to hear more about the current financial mess, but I guess we will have to wait until after the election.
I think Obama won this one, too. And I guess many Ohioans agree with me, the Channel 12 phone poll had it 55% thought Obama won. Up until last week, this poll was overwhelmingly favoring McCain. I guess Ohio is painting itself Blue these days.
These next three weeks will be like waiting for Christmas..

Town Hall Debate
Well, the senile mutant ninja turtle didn’t get it done tonight. He stayed true to form and couldn’t resist getting in a condescending slap or two, as well as a new slur. Got to give McCain an “A” for creativity, when he came up with a new phrase to go along with Elitist, Uppity and N*****.
THAT ONE?..... WTF is that in reference to a United States Senator.
Otherwise, McCain was a bit more subdued tonight. He’s apparently going to let his attack bitch, er dog do his dirty work. The only thing that Palin isn’t bringing to her lynching/campaign stops is a rope. But then I’d lay odds that someone in her crowd probably has one stashed nearby, based on reports from the field today.
Obama played safe and presidential tonight. I didn’t hear anything about the economy that made me comfortable. We’re screwed and both incoming candidates don’t really have a clue, or so it seems.
On to next week...

The Cute Factor
With expectations sweeping the floor, Sarah Palin had no where to go but up. She was forceful, bless her heart. She had the “cute factor” working, batting those great big brown eyes, sporting those huge dimples and flashing that perfectly aligned extra white smile. But after about five minutes of “aw shucks, politics delivered in that grating sing-songy voice, I was ready to pull out what little hair I have on my head.
Palin was obviously well rehearsed in GOP attack lines, but was almost totally non responsive to most of the questions. Cliche after cliche was followed by campaign line after campaign line to the point of repetitive tedium.
Joe Biden, I thought gave the best debate performance of his life. I’ve seen him a few times now, and this time he kept me engaged without resorting to an overwhelming amount of Senate-speak. He showed himself to be the foreign relations expert that he is. He stated his positions as well as those of Obama’s, clearly and concisely.
He was a gentleman. There were many times that he could have climbed all over his lesser experienced opponent, but chose to just chuckle rather than to pounce. He didn’t need to, her sometimes nonsensical answers spoke volumes.
Palin will still probably get a bounce out of this. Not because she and McCain deserve it, but because folks probably think she is so damned cute behind that microphone.

You Say Tomato..I Say ToMahto..
Who gives a damn what you call it....Bailout....Rescue....WE, the people are still getting screwed...still drowning in debt...still facing foreclosures...still have no credit...the newly minted measure passed last night by the senate...did not address any of these under lying problems...And, the now 451 page bill, was sweetened for republicans in order to get them to vote for it, by adding tax cuts....So much for Johnny Mac’s primal scream about earmarks and pork barrel spending... Obama voted for it, too, much to my disgust..
I don’t understand why we have to act so quickly....I’ll bet my next paycheck that 99 percent of our senators haven’t read the measure itself, yet, if ever...But they want us to swallow it unread...just trust them...they’ve taken care of us...so well, so far...yeah right..
This “rescue” is adding more debt rather than decreasing debt...I hope the House will just say “no” again..But I doubt it.....
Here' s novel idea....why don't we all go back to using cash...as in dollar bills ya'll...cut up the credit cards....Your life will suddenly destress...guaranteed...

Is it just me, or does it seem like Johnny Mac is having woman trouble again
First the serial adulterer picks Sarah Palin as his running mate as a dig at Hillary...apparently spending more time choosing his 500-dollar ferragamo loafers than he did vetting Palin...Then after telling us that she really, really, really has a brain...He shields her from the media....no questions...
Finally, he allows her to answer some questions in sit downs, first with Charlie Gibson...and after that, Katie Couric...
McCain hasn’t said anything about Charlie..but he keeps accusing Katie of “gotcha questioning.”..all this after Palin shows she can’t think on her feet without a script in front of her..nerves, maybe?
There is also a rumor floating around that Palin doesn’t like talking to women, either, which is reportedly why she did okay with Charlie but not with Katie..
Now JM is upset that Gwen Ifil is handling tonight’s debate, because she is writing or has written a book about race and politics and has put Obama’s name in the title...Looks like he’s building up a routine of attack for after the debate, just in case his VP doesn’t perform up to his expectations..
Word has it that John has also thrown NY Times Op Ed columnist Maureen Dowd off his campaign plane...guess he doesn’t like her column either...

Queen Johnny
To quote the late actor Robert Preston in the film Victor/Victoria, “there’s nothing sadder than an old queen with a head cold..”
Johnny Mac doesn’t have a cold, but he does seem to be channeling his inner drag queen this week(who else would pay $5500 for makeup), preferring to stir up chaos and a lot of drama, rather than campaigning like an honorable politician seeking the highest office in the land.
Actually, honorable in context with the word politician or in any sentence that contains John McCain’s name is an oxymoron. McCain’s campaign has been totally dishonorable. I didn’t think it could sink any lower, but apparently he prefers swimming in muddy waters.
A couple of days ago, McCain held his first news conference in a hundred years to tell everyone that he was suspending his campaign in order to run back to Washington and hammer out a bailout for Wall Street. Queen Johnny likes playing president. Remember when Russia jumped all over Georgia. John John took to the airwaves to tell everyone what he would do...not that we asked. He jumped so fast, you would’ve thought that Shrub had already retired.
Her majesty said no ads, no campaigning, no political work of any kind while he was being presidential....McCain even wanted to cancel tonight’s debate, because he said he had too much stuff on his plate to do something so trivial as to talk to the American people about foreign policy, which is his strong suit, by the way. Well, that stuff may work with reporters...he hasn’t talked to reporters since he started using Sarah Palin as a shield...but it doesn’t work with we, the people. And his campaign during this suspension has been business as usual, complete with the underhanded, lying attacks on Obama.
All that came out the oval office yesterday was this photo of McCain sitting at the end of the table staring out into space. So what happened? Did the big deal maker have an old timer’s moment and forget where he was? Reports from inside the room said McCain barely said a word nor did he really push for anything substantial.
So.....what was the point of all this nonsense except to say...”look at me, world...I’m John McCain...vote for me because I said so...” Drag Queen drama!
But he still has the spotlight....the question today is will the debate happen tonight....My guess is that it will....but Queen Johnny will arrive fashionably late in order to make an entrance...

Do You Believe in Miracles?!
Last night I sat through a history making debate for the democratic nomination for president of the United States. Today I wake up to a statement from, well..I’ll be nice and just use her name....Ann Coulter.
During a chat on FOX news, last night, the GOP’s Paris Hilton, said she would vote for Hillary for president if the choice came down to Hillary versus John McCain in the general election come November.
I will believe it when I see it. Coulter claimed to be serious, stating that Hillary is more conservative than McCain.
Hmmmmmmmmm...I thought maybe she was trying to close ranks with other females and convince us she really is one us...instead of an anorexic fembot....Time will tell.
Considering the stuff that comes out of her mouth it’s going to take more than a vote for a democrat to change my mind about her. She still comes up third on my list of those I consider “walking wastes of oxygen” behind Rush and Bill _______, insert your own preferred last name. I can think of several stupid people named Bill, these days....
But back to the debate....
Like many watching, I was seeing my dream ticket in action.
Obama/Hillary...Hillary/Obama...I don’t think it’s gonna happen... Way too much ego in play and it gives the GOP too much to unify against....A black man and white woman...I can see the head hunting party forming now...All those good ole boys and their women standing behind them urging them on...screaming for blood....
Who ever makes it to the nomination and White House is making history. So, too, should the cabinet selected by the new prez.
I’ve been pondering who I would like to see serve at the pleasure of the president......
Secretary of State........Madeleine Albright or someone she’s mentored
Secretary of Defense........Colin Powell
Secretary of EPA.........Al Gore
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development....John Edwards
Secretary of Education.......Johnnetta Cole
Secretary of Treasury..........Mitt Romney
Secretary of Commerce...........Roxanne Qualls
Secretary of Health & Human Services...Bill Richardson
Secretary of Labor..............Eleanor Holmes Norton
Secretary of Veteran Affairs.......John McCain or some other vet who’s been there..
Secretary of Energy....Dennis Kucinich
Secretary of Transportation.....an engineer with vision and imagination
Secretary of Homeland Security..........abolish this position revamp, strengthen and streamline the departments under this division
Attorney General.........Ruth Bader Ginsberg
National Security Advisor.....Dubya’s Dad.....George Herbert Walker Bush
Ambassador to the United Nations....Bill Clinton
Special Envoy to the World..........Jimmy Carter...Americans may not like him, but the world does...and if ever we needed a return to goodwill...it’s now....

Ten Men Talking
Well, the first GOP “debate” is over and it went well:
If you deny evolution,
if you think Ronny Ray-gun was the best president, ever, and refuse to criticize Bush, or other members of his evil cabal,
think gays and lesbians are abomination,
think stem cell research is murder,
don’t think women have enough brains to make good decisions when it comes to their own bodies,
Think Alito and Roberts will do great things from the Supreme Court bench,
think congress has a right to mess in private lives like what happened with Terri Shiavo,
continue to equate the Iraq quagmire with a war on terror,
are willing to go to war with Iran tomorrow, despite the messes in Iraq and Afghanistan,
and feel this administration is doing a good job..
They all hate Hillary and one of them (sorry, they all look alike) told Joe Scarborough that every man on stage would make a better president than Hillary Clinton. The answer also shows that she is the one they fear the most. They all ranted against Hillary health care, circa early 90's. They all took pot shots at Bill and most of them voted to impeach him. They all accused Democrats of being soft on defense.
If Hillary gets the nomination, I’m willing to bet that it will be a very negative campaign. Men turn into "mean girls" and get bitchy, when challenged by women, we all know that.
Did anyone stand out.....Mitt Romney looked presidential...but it was that idealized, calculated look of what a president should look like. Listening to him....he’s got the Joe Biden slime factor going on.
Rudy, Rudy, Rudy....got buried in the shuffle. He didn’t stand out or have a chance to stand out. He was trying to be everything to everyone. It’s not working. He doesn’t seem really interested in the job. I think he likes campaigning as long as it holds his interest, nothing more.
And if the GOP hands Rudy the nomination it will illustrate just how hypocritical republicans are when it comes to making moral judgements. Rudy’s so tainted, he should be a democrat.
John McCain....tried too hard. I think the parade has passed him by and he can’t catch up.
As for the rest of them, well, we needed some comic relief....I found myself wishing for Newt or Fred or even Arnold to jump on stage..

I’m Voting for the Old Guy
Just finished watching the first debate of this latest presidential season. All top tier democrats were on stage and apparently on their best behavior. It was pretty boring except for the old guy, Senator Mike Gravel. I didn’t know he was running for president. Hell, I didn’t even know who he was, but I like the fact that he, at least was willing to throw some bombs and mix it up a bit.
He spoke his mind with no hint of political correctness, and made some folks antsy. But he doesn’t have a snow ball’s chance of getting the nomination. Gravel flat out said the war was wrong and that we should pull out, period. He said if congress was really against the war, it would pull the funding, which is Dennis Kucinich’s major stance.
He excited me, made me want to vote for him. He was raw and plain spoken and is probably crazy. But after the past six years of lies, prevarication and arrogance, I’m more than happy to settle for the old guy senator, over more wet behind the ears polished, professional politicians.
But seriously folks....
Obama....smooth, cool under fire, well studied on the issues...felt like part of the establishment
Hillary (I don’t use Clinton cause there are two of them)....cool, to the point, well studied, I liked her straightforward, albeit boring presentation. And I understand she has to be...too flashy...she’s a tart...too smart and forthright....she’s a B***......too understated and she’s a schoolmarm...she can’t win that publicity war, no matter what she does...
Joe Biden....acquitted himself well, created the best soundbite of the night, but I still don’t like him...don’t trust him...smarmy
Bill Richardson...there is something about him that speaks to me, but I need to hear more, and I really don’t think he’s a strong enough candidate.
John Edwards....I’m not going to lie, reminds me of Dan Quayle....just a hell of a lot smarter...
Kucinich....I love Dennis the menace...he’s a great candidate, just too loopy to make it to the White House....trouble is...he is not loopy at all...and that’s a shame...maybe if he loosened up and took the grassroots, campus route...maybe...he could derail the frontrunners...naaah!
Christopher Dodd....another professional politician...I did like his answer about LGBT civil unions...it was heart felt, honest and human...it didn’t pander...I respect him for that..
Overall, I think the format needs changing. This wasn’t a debate, this was Q&A touching on all hot button issues, with reaction from the candidates...Debates need interaction among the participants.....I had trouble paying attention.
Too much PC in the room....with the exception of the old guy.

Preaching to the Choir
I have a problem with the Democratic candidates for president refusing to take part in debates sponsored by Fox News and The Congressional Black Caucus Institute.
Yes, we know that Fox is the ministry of information for the neocons, but the neocons still have a large audience that needs to be educated and informed. Wouldn’t it be more practical to take the platform offered and try to win over some folks, rather than simply give up on them? Isn’t that just playing into Fox Noise’s hands, allowing them to level claims of liberal bias?
Playing to liberal or independent audiences is simply preaching to the choir. It’s what Shrub’s been doing for the past six years. He never holds a news conference or a photo op that is not filled with his sycophantic followers. He never allows dissension of any kind. Are we, as a people in for the same kind of thing, if we elect a democrat to the White House?
What has happened to debate in this country? Debates are for looking at all sides of the issues. Good debates teach and inform. A good debate may not ultimately change your mind, but it will have given you something to think about. I don’t give a damn about who sponsors a debate. I only care about what I hear from the candidates.
Shrub has trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. He has shown his fear of free speech, free thought, free debate and expression.
By refusing to take part in what could be a hostile debate, Democrats are showing their true strips...that they are just as chicken sh** and ignorant of what makes us Americans as Dubya and the Neocons.
