About His Record and Ohio....
Since this latest campaign season kicked into full gear, the GOP led by former Bush budget director and career politician Rob Portman, has been running a series of ads claiming Ohio has lost 400,000 jobs in the past four years under Governor Ted Strickland and Lt. Governor Lee Fisher.
Most of these ads are bought and paid for by various political pacs and groups funded by right wing billionaires such as Rupert Murdoch, who owns FOX News, the Koch Brothers, and the Coors Beer Family to name a few. These are the same billionaires trying to control the country by funding the tea party movement and their batty candidates.
What all these ads have in common are professional actors in supposedly every day situations talking about how Strickland, Fisher, Driehaus and the Democrats have killed Ohio's economy, by losing jobs, “busting the budget,” or outsourcing work to Texas and then El Salvador.
These ads end by stating that Ohio's unemployment rate is above the national average. That's true. It is.
But what is not true is this....Strickland and Fisher did not lose 400,000 manufacturing jobs on their four year watch.
What happened on their watch was a continuation of what began a decade ago under the GOP. The job loss....all 379, 900 of them...began in 2006...before Lee Fisher and Ted Strickland took office. This according to the Department of Labor Statistics.
The real truth is that Ohio has been hemorhaging jobs since 2000, until June of this year, when the jobs started to come back. The net loss was 568,000 jobs since the year 2000.
The ominous ads would have you believe that Rob Portman is the good guy in all this. Heck, from the ads you'd be hard pressed to know this guy was even a politician in the first place.
The ads always portray him in jeans and a button down shirt...never in a suit as if he actually did some work on Capital Hill where congressmen work.
Rob Portman was a Congressman for 10 years until Dubya tapped him to be budget director and oversee the Bush tax cuts for rich people.
Portman is working diligently to keep those tax cuts in place despite the fact they will cost Americans 3 trillion dollars more on the deficit if they stay in place.
Now, that is truly "budget busting" as the ads like to trumpet.
He also spent one year as US trade representative overseeing the export of all those manufacturing jobs to China and the rest of the third world.
Portman voted for NAFTA, which is directly responsible for allowing corporations to ship jobs overseas.
He supported the Bush tax cuts, which resulted in the $128 billion dollar surplus in the budget under Clinton being siphoned off to the deficits that it reflects today.
Portman also left time in his scheduled to trash women, gays and Blacks....his voting record does nothing to help minorities...women apparently don't deserve equal health care....the LGBT community does not need to be protected from bigots or allowed to marry and raise families...and Black people don't deserve basic civil rights.
Far from being an outsider....Portman is very comfortable in the halls of Congress. He is a professional politician....past...present and future....

Hey Homes, You Messed Up, Man-Another Open Letter to the President
You left that sista hangin', man. You didn't help her. In fact, you let your boys beat her up worse than those fools at Fox News. And, then when the shit hit the fan, man, you ducked, hid out in the White House and sent your mouth piece to talk for you, when you should've apologized personally, as soon as it turned around.
This lady runs deep in Civil Rights history, man. She has walked the walk all her life before you was Barack Obama. You messed up man. Messed up. Never should a happened in the first place. You didn't have her back, when you should have.
And now everybody's mad at ya.
But you know, I think some of it's our fault too. We expected so much of you. We assumed so much of you. We assumed you had our back, that when we called you “Homes” you knew what that meant.
You were honest, dude. You told us about how you was raised up. How your black daddy left your white mother to raise you in her world. You told the truth. You didn't try to fool nobody. We just saw what we wanted to see and made it happen. We got a Black President.
The thing is you look black, man, like your daddy, but you react to the world the way your mother taught you. You don't really know what it's like for black people in America, because you ain't never been there.
You been to Indonesia and around the world. You learned how to play hoops realistically, however if Reggie told the truth, he would probably say you play like a white boy, steady, effective, but no MJ flash.
Your journey leading up to this point took you through the white world, through the real Harvard instead of Illinois college of higher learning for Black men, otherwise known as the Cook County Jail. You spent more time with your mother's people than you have with us and it shows.
Look at any black looking person who has spent his or her life being the “fly in the buttermilk” and you will see a person who is not really comfortable around other black people. They can't help it, and neither can you. It's what they and you are used to. The internal understanding of Black America is simply not there.
You can sit down and share a beer with the Skippy Gates of the world. He is just like you, always reveling in the lack of black genes in his own gene pool. He looks black, but as he so often reminds..he's three quarters white. You seem to want to relate differently than Gates, but you don't know how. You are at least trying.
No disrespect, but you can't dance, man. You ain't got no rhythm, no moves, no empathy for your father's people. You weren't raised with black consciousness. Viscerally, you don't understand Blackness. You're like that wild animal rescued by humans, who can't be released back into the wild because he's never been wild or totally free in the first place.
When we put you in the White House, we figured you would have our back, that we could trust you to instinctively know things, black-things, and that finally there was a President who understood and would work it out for us, even while he was placating the man. No, we weren't looking for change overnight, far from it. As the godfather of soul said...we just wanted someone to finally open the door and let us in...we can serve ourselves.
We refused to believe, despite what you handed us by way of your cabinet and by the stances that you continue to take, that you not only work to placate the man...you are he and he is you.
No offense meant, Homes. You look like us, but you ain't us.
C'mon Homes, you know nobody really wants that chump change welfare check. You can't live off that shit.
We was expecting a massive program to put people to work immediately, not after you get out of office. You policies are worse than the voodoo economics of Reagan. We was already in deep doo-doo from Reagan and the mismanagement, lies and wars created by Bush the younger, and now you're putting stuff into place that you say will make things better...we just have to wait until 2014 or later...
2014 ain't gon be no middle class, or regular people, man just rich people and the poor who serve them.
Homes, we elected you because we like you, because you're smart, because you really are the best of America at this point in time.
But you got to do better. You got to stop flinching every time the Right fakes a sucker punch. You need to learn how to counter punch.
Rather than simply breaking bread with our people, you need to sit down on the stoop ….go visit the hood....go check out the unemployment lines....cop a seat at the welfare office and play with the babies.....talk to old black people....have you really listened to your mother in law...engaged her in a conversation about blackness, because if you have, it doesn't appear that you really heard her.
You've done a lot... accomplished a lot in a very short time and we really, really are proud of you.
But you're missing the big picture, Homes, and it may bring about early foreclosure and eviction from the beautiful big White House that you're currently renting and calling home.
It's not too late for change.

The Prez and the Tour Guide
While President Obama spent his Thursday signing an anti nuke treaty with Russia, designed to make the future safer for the world, Sacajawea-lite, the former governor of Alaska spent that same day tearing into the diplomatic break through with her standard attack lines, while her new female friend, Michele Bachmann, played Thelma to her Louise (has anybody told the ladies that a T&L reference is a another way of calling them Dykes?) I digress...
What is different today is that since the passage of health care, Obama has become President of the comeback. In other words, he's started playing that old ghetto game called “the dozens.”
So when Lady Sarah got her dig in...so did President O...He told Gentleman George from ABC News, when asked about Palin's harpy esque criticism..
"I really have no response. Because last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues,".... "If the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff are comfortable with it, I'm probably going to take my advice from them and not from Sarah Palin."

Tiger's Back
Finished at 4 under, which puts him 2 off the lead. He's rusty on his putting, otherwise he would be at least 2 up, probably 3 considering the eagles he missed. He did make 2 eagles on the day.
I don't care about his personal life. But I do love watching him play golf.

Threatening Pelosi
Nancy's latest nut case, jailed for threatening bodily harm for her votes on healthcare, cried in court when arraigned on the charges. He apparently left dozens of obscene and violent threats on her answering machine.
Well, his mother says in defending him, FOX News made him do it. She says he spends his days listening to extremist commentators. Care to guess who?
They made her baby do it.
Maybe in the interest of everyone's mental health and safety the government should unplug FOX. Now that would be real health care reform.

SRLC Meets
Whoa! JC Watts has surfaced. Watts, in case you forgot was the illusion of inclusion paraded around by Republicans as their example of liking Black people, before they leashed up Michael Steele. Watts addressed the Southern Republican Leadership Conference going on in New Orleans this week.
Liz Cheney was there, too and told the gathering, "Nothing makes people more convinced of the rightness of conservative causes seeing the alternative in action.”
According to the Times Picayune, Cheney, Watts, and Newt Gingrich among others, spent time talking about NOLA food, NOLA football, and NOLA culture. They talked everything except about the 900 pound gorilla on guard at the door who answers to the name of Katrina.
Statistics show that only 75% of the population has returned to the once vibrant city after the storm.
Most of those who haven't come back are minorities, according to the stats and the stories in the newspaper. Furthermore, Amnesty International has slammed America and the GOP occupied White House at the time of the hurricane with human rights violations.
Amnesty cited failings in housing, healthcare and police action in the wake of the storm and beyond for directly causing the deaths of 1800 people as well as minority inability to rebuild their lives.
The organization singled out Louisiana and Mississippi Republicans specifically, for scorn.
Yet the original wind up Black Republican Ken doll said, "History’s going to be kind to George W. Bush, “ implying that the more America deals with the Obama Administration, the more the country will want to have the GOP back in power.
You know, maybe we don't need to legalize marijuana. Maybe we just need to legalize, package , sell and tax whatever it is the GOP is toking.

Executive Order 13528
Establishes a Council of Governors chosen by the President to approve Pentagon mandated contingency plans to take over control of the National Guard in the event of an emergency.In other words, bringing martial law and military take over of America, one step closer to reality.
Executive Order signed by Bush.....No....signed by Obama...
I have a real problem with this...
Thanks to laws passed by Bush in 2006, the troops are here, they're legal, and they've been signed off on by Obama. Don't believe me...look up the law....starting with this EO signed in January 2010, the Military Commission Act of 2006 and the Warner Defense Act, of around the same time, 2006.
Until Bush signed off on these laws, it was illegal to station American troops on American soil for action against American citizens. This changed in 2008. The first batallion is already in residence under the command of NORTHCOM.
Under Obama's EO, the National Guard also falls under NORTHCOM's command if he, meaning Obama or some other president, deems necessary to control the population.

My Favorite Conspiracy Theory
Ask anyone who grew up, when I grew up, who killed Martin Luther King and many, if not most, will tell you the government killed him.
It was a hit because of his views on Vietnam. MLK's murder had nothing to do with civil rights for Black people. Martin was safe until he started to question foreign policy.

Preaching to the Choir
I have a problem with the Democratic candidates for president refusing to take part in debates sponsored by Fox News and The Congressional Black Caucus Institute.
Yes, we know that Fox is the ministry of information for the neocons, but the neocons still have a large audience that needs to be educated and informed. Wouldn’t it be more practical to take the platform offered and try to win over some folks, rather than simply give up on them? Isn’t that just playing into Fox Noise’s hands, allowing them to level claims of liberal bias?
Playing to liberal or independent audiences is simply preaching to the choir. It’s what Shrub’s been doing for the past six years. He never holds a news conference or a photo op that is not filled with his sycophantic followers. He never allows dissension of any kind. Are we, as a people in for the same kind of thing, if we elect a democrat to the White House?
What has happened to debate in this country? Debates are for looking at all sides of the issues. Good debates teach and inform. A good debate may not ultimately change your mind, but it will have given you something to think about. I don’t give a damn about who sponsors a debate. I only care about what I hear from the candidates.
Shrub has trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. He has shown his fear of free speech, free thought, free debate and expression.
By refusing to take part in what could be a hostile debate, Democrats are showing their true strips...that they are just as chicken sh** and ignorant of what makes us Americans as Dubya and the Neocons.
