The latest round of primaries is over and the huge wave of change continues if you believe the hype of the mainstream media. Women were the big winners in California and South Carolina and Arkansas.

Maybe...

Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman pulled out big primary wins in California proving that money can still buy elections regardless of gender. Both of these first time candidates spent their own money to stand on the victory podium last night. Fiorina was also endorsed by political gadfly Sarah Palin.

Fiorina will take on Senator Barb Boxer, while Whitman will square off against former California Governor Jerry Brown.

Blanche Lincoln is one step closer to re election in Arkansas, while South Carolina is looking at putting another Palin backed candidate in the Governor's mansion in the form of Nikki Haley.

Haley is a Mark Sanford protege, endorsed by Sanford's ex wife as well as Palin.

In Nevada, the tea party candidate, Sharron Angle won the right to take on Harry Reid in November.

On the surface the election of all these women looks like a good thing...a change in direction for the country. However, if you look at what they are saying, you know that Fiorina, Whitman, Haley and Angle are simply more of the same..

SOSDG....same old shit different gender

What these women all have in common are platforms that are violently anti woman and anti family. They are on record as wanting to abolish the Dept of Education, the Environmental Protection Agency, repeal Roe v Wade, and privatize or eliminate Social Security, among other things. They are not listening to the people, but they are listening to the men who have gone before them and who are still pulling the strings.

Bottom line...they are rich people who continue the “do as I say....not as I do” way of governance that plagues Congress now.

It's not the gender of the candidate that makes the difference...it's the platform...

Time to start listening and reading and researching and voting come November..

Labor Day Roundup 2009

Venus Williams playing on one leg is good enough to comfortably beat just about everybody else on the WTA Tour. However there are a few exceptions besides her sister, and Kim Clijsters is one of them.

Clijsters who recently decided to come back to the tour following an injury and baby retirement, has always had one of those dangerous games for either Williams. She is one of the best returners in the game. And she is a former grand slam champion.

I was surprised when she dusted Venus in the first set and equally surprised when Venus returned the favor in the second set. The outcome of the match didn't bother me too much. Venus is gimpy and it shows. She can't get down on her shots because of the knee. She does need the rest.

She would have met Serena in the semifinals and now this is not going to happen. So Serena has pretty much of a straight shot at the championship with only Clijsters in the way. I am discounting the 17 year old phenom.

She is good, but I don't think she has the guns to take out Serena, or Clijsters for that matter. She would not have beaten a healthy Sharapova either.

The sister act is still alive in the doubles. They paired up after Venus lost and looked completely at ease doing it. They have already claimed two out of three grand slam doubles titles this year. This one will be the third this year, if they win.

They already have a doubles slam in their trophy case..that means in one year they won all four titles..pretty hard to do....Serena is one of only five women who have done it in singles...Stephie Graf did it twice.

Man....can you believe it.....South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford is the one who started the rumors that his Lt Governor is gay? Rumors have been flying for months now, however the source has only just been revealed...

Funny how in all this rigamarole about Obama talking to school kids...nowhere have I seen any file footage of Dubya....Some show Dubya's dad talking to kids...some mentioned that Reagan routinely talked politics with school children...

But nowhere have I seen that footage of Dubya inside a classroom...I'm talking about the time he visited while the planes flew into the World Trade Center Towers on 9/11...

He used to go to schools on a regular basis...yet no one ever accused him of being politically motivated

White guys can do the same thing over and over for days....but as soon as the black guy does it..then there must be something wrong...something negative....something that is going to hurt somebody...

I like George Will. I do listen to him, even if I don't agree with him. I respect his opinions and, honestly, I like the way his mind works....But like I said I tend to come to different conclusions...Except this time..

George has said we need to get out of Afghanistan pronto...and I wholeheartedly agree with him. Afghanistan is another mistake by the Bush Administration that should never have been made given our mistakes and history in that area, in the past, as well as our history with Vietnam.

We should not be there....period.

The President is in Cincinnati today at the annual Union picnic at Coney Island. Been there in past years...not there this year...prefer to enjoy my tennis..

Labor Day is a day for sports...not politics...

We’re All Going to Hell and it’s Obama’s Fault

Oklahoma GOP politician...fake Christian...bigot...racist...homophobic....Sally Kern...is in the news today. I usually don’t bother writing about these people because they do enough damage to themselves, just by opening their mouths...

However, today is an exception to my rule ....Kern has authored a proclamation on morality, that the Oklahoma legislature is actually going to consider.

According to this woman, Americaonly has a few years of existence left because President Obama has embraced the devil and is leading us to hell. She didn’t come out and call him the Anti Christ...that would be just too crazy...but she implied it..

I’m going to let the proclamation speak for itself.

It seems the homophobic Mrs Kern also gave birth to a gay son, who is something of a hell raiser in his own right...Maybe he’s acting out at mommy....And maybe she’s taking her self perceived shortcomings out on the rest of us....

Going Naked-Going Green

Some nudist group is recommending that everyone start taking nude vacations as a way of reducing our carbon footprints and thereby saving the earth...

I’m on board with that...

The worst thing about having my sister and her kids move in with me, a few years ago was having to give up walking around the house in the nude....I sleep that way and had to remember to cover up out of respect for my family members..

Nothing like feeling the wind all over your body, unblocked....

Healthy Ice Cream

My ice cream can be a lot of things....

It can be loaded with fat....It can be loaded with sugar....It can be loaded with nuts and chocolate and come drowning in caramel....It can be surrounded by fruit in a boat...it can be piled high on a cone, melting so fast that I have to lick the back of my hand to get it all in my mouth...

But....Healthy or light....as in ice cream with green tea or granola or wheat grass..... with half the calories....give me a break......you keep that S***...
