8th anniversary of the attack on America. There is still a hole in the ground where the Trade Towers stood. Bush is out of office, but the war in Afghanistan is bloodier than before, even as Iraq is winding down, thanks to Obama.

Waldo, Osama Bin Laden and Carmen Sandiego are the only three people in the world that American spy satellites can't seem to locate. Despite a 25-million dollar bounty on his head and the fact that he has failing kidneys and is 6 feet 4 inches tall, They can't find him...

Think about it....a six foot four Arab pulling a dialysis machine through mountains...

Do we really want to find this guy? After all...America armed the Taliban in the first place...Why can't we end this American created inter squad scrimmage and come home, now?

Caster Semenya

May be an intersexual...or sources allegedly close to the testing have told a couple of foreign newspapers..Today, I am questioning those reports as accurate....primarily because...of the terms that the sources are using...Hermaphrodite is not the au currant term these days....It's Intersexed..

In the meantime these “sources” say she has organs for both men and women. The sports governing group says since she didn't cheat, she may get to keep her medals, but they still have studying to do and that will take a few more weeks...

The downside is that she may never be allowed to compete again, because she is too strong to go against women, yet not man enough to go against men...

There is an upside to all of this controversy....the girl is happy with who she is...the world seems to be happy that she is happy...and that is a good thing....no one wants her stripped of her medals or hurt anymore by this mess...

It gets better about Congressman Joe “that's a lie” Wilson....seems he is back tracking his apology saying the GOP leadership told him to say sorry....

Kind of like the kid who gets the crap beat out of him then tries to spin it by saying...”did you see me punch his fist with my face?.....I kicked his ass!”

Yeah, right..

This little piss-ant apparently has a long history of letting his mouth get his behind in trouble...seems way back when, when the world got wind of racist Strom Thurmond's black daughter...Wilson attacked the daughter....Essie Washington....as disrespecting a fine upstanding and respectable Congressman that was the segregationist Thurmond.....All Essie said to disrespect the man was....”yes, he is my father.”

Thurmond supported Essie his entire life....just kept her hidden....to keep his buddies from stripping him of his KKK membership...

Wilson, like many of his modern day fellow republicans has a problem with black-white love or sex...especially when it begets babies who may someday grow up to be president...

Queen Serena

Has her toughest match this afternoon, not Saturday night when the final will be played...She is playing Kim Clijsters today in the semis.....Kim is dangerous and has nothing to lose...Love her game...but I love Serena even more....

The sisters are in the Doubles finals on Sunday...they got pushed yesterday...but got through it...that's okay....They need to be pushed in order to get better....

Go Venus! Go Serena! Go Venus! Go Serena!

Labor Day Roundup 2009

Venus Williams playing on one leg is good enough to comfortably beat just about everybody else on the WTA Tour. However there are a few exceptions besides her sister, and Kim Clijsters is one of them.

Clijsters who recently decided to come back to the tour following an injury and baby retirement, has always had one of those dangerous games for either Williams. She is one of the best returners in the game. And she is a former grand slam champion.

I was surprised when she dusted Venus in the first set and equally surprised when Venus returned the favor in the second set. The outcome of the match didn't bother me too much. Venus is gimpy and it shows. She can't get down on her shots because of the knee. She does need the rest.

She would have met Serena in the semifinals and now this is not going to happen. So Serena has pretty much of a straight shot at the championship with only Clijsters in the way. I am discounting the 17 year old phenom.

She is good, but I don't think she has the guns to take out Serena, or Clijsters for that matter. She would not have beaten a healthy Sharapova either.

The sister act is still alive in the doubles. They paired up after Venus lost and looked completely at ease doing it. They have already claimed two out of three grand slam doubles titles this year. This one will be the third this year, if they win.

They already have a doubles slam in their trophy case..that means in one year they won all four titles..pretty hard to do....Serena is one of only five women who have done it in singles...Stephie Graf did it twice.

Funny how in all this rigamarole about Obama talking to school kids...nowhere have I seen any file footage of Dubya....Some show Dubya's dad talking to kids...some mentioned that Reagan routinely talked politics with school children...

But nowhere have I seen that footage of Dubya inside a classroom...I'm talking about the time he visited while the planes flew into the World Trade Center Towers on 9/11...

He used to go to schools on a regular basis...yet no one ever accused him of being politically motivated

Some stereotypes just won't die and the big black boogie man is one of them....

White guys can do the same thing over and over for days....but as soon as the black guy does it..then there must be something wrong...something negative....something that is going to hurt somebody...

I like George Will. I do listen to him, even if I don't agree with him. I respect his opinions and, honestly, I like the way his mind works....But like I said I tend to come to different conclusions...Except this time..

George has said we need to get out of Afghanistan pronto...and I wholeheartedly agree with him. Afghanistan is another mistake by the Bush Administration that should never have been made given our mistakes and history in that area, in the past, as well as our history with Vietnam.

We should not be there....period.

The President is in Cincinnati today at the annual Union picnic at Coney Island. Been there in past years...not there this year...prefer to enjoy my tennis..

Happening all across America....What Juneteenth is not...is the day that slavery ended in America as I heard one clueless newscaster say this morning... The Emancipation Proclamation became law on January 1, 1863..

Juneteenth celebrates the day that Texas slaves found out they were free....on June 19, 1865...two years late because Texas plantation owners refused to tell them....

and since there was no Twitter back in the day...it took em a while to find out...

Father's Day

I am blessed with coming from a two parent home....My dad turns 81 in a couple of weeks...my mom reached 79 back in January...They're will celebrate 59 years of marriage in a couple of months...

My Mom has always been the rock.....My Dad....well all you have to do is pick up the phone and say..

“ Hey Dad, I need some help...”

Knowing that his help meant he would literally take over the project, making you the assistant....

Don't get me wrong...We ain't the Cleavers ...we are as dysfunctional as every other American family..but still...there was and there still is...some good stuff going on...

On this day....I choose to think about the good stuff...

watching him Box on television, when I was four....he was a professional light heavyweight...32-2 before he quit...his knees gave out....he retired...

he said he quit because he was “too pretty to stand there and get hit”...My dad boxed dancing on his toes before Muhammed Ali...never flatfooted...

learning how to work on cars despite my gender....he taught me....and even today, I'm better at it then most guys I know...

Getting up before dawn to pick up our grandmother and go fishing at Lake Chetaq or the Doctor's lake..

Hearing from other people...how proud my Dad was because I was the morning anchor on the TV newscast....

Queen Serena-Bow Down Players!

Not only has Serena Williams won the 2009 Australian Open, she has taken over the title of highest paid female athlete ever, surpassing golfing great Annika Sorenstam. Sorenstam retired last year.

Serena knocked off Dinara Safina earlier this morning to the tune of 6-0, 6-3. It was an old fashioned butt whuppin’. Serena finishing the first set in little more than 22 minutes.

That’s a shame, because I like Safina. She’s a good player, just not in Serena’s league when Serena brings her ‘A’ game. But then nobody is in that league. Serena has now won 4 Australians starting back in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009. She must like those odd years.

She also combined with sister Venus to take the doubles title. So these wins now bring her career earnings to 23.5-million dollars.

Oh, and by the way......She’s back to being #1 in the world again....
