Attracting Blacks and Latinos to the GOP? When Karl Rove Can Dunk a Basketball Without a Ladder!

It ain't gonna happen with the current state of the Grand Old Party. Blacks and Latinos and other self respecting minorities are going to do what they did, run in terror to the Democrats. And quiet as it's kept, that's no real salvation either.

The truth of the matter is that both of the major political parties in America, Suck. They suck big ones, big time. All the time. But as bad as the Democratic Party is, the GOP is like following a guy named Jim Jones to paradise and then having good ole Jim force you to drink kool aid laced with cyanide.

That's just dumb. No thinking person of color does that unless somebody is also holding a gun to their head.

And nothing pisses me off more than for some clueless white person or stupid negro to tell me that Blacks should be Republicans because the GOP is the Party of Lincoln, and “you know, he did free the slaves.”

Well whoopie fuckin' deal.

Let's buy a vowel, shall we. The Republican Party of Lincoln is NOT the Republican Party of today. Hell, the Republican Party of today is not even the GOP of the 20^th Century. The current GOP must have secretly beamed down from some alien planet that is invisibly circling our sun, or passing through our universe, because these so called Republicans have absolutely no human or recognizable conservative attributes, what so ever.

I learned about conservative Republicans from my own family. Most of the elder generation, some of whom were freed slaves, were also Republicans-Lincoln Republicans. However, by the time I became old enough to vote, some six decades ago, only a colored fool, would even talk about being in the GOP. We dark, but we ain't crazy. Aligning with the GOP is like a slave running with the KKK, thinking he's a member instead of entertainment at the picnic, and that was 40 years ago. The GOP has devolved even more and is a shrunken skull of what it once was.

I learned that Black Republicans looked and acted like General Colin Powell, or Senator Ed Brooke, or Activist and writer, Raynard Jackson, Dr. Martin Luther King or my grandfather, James Chenault Senior. Even Condoleeza Rice was a Lincoln type Republican until she started worshiping at the throne of the Tea Party. The formerly respectable conservative Dr. Rice has gone all the way crazy and I find that sad because she really could help her party by being the conservative beacon that she used to be, prior to her stints with Dubya and company.

These people were people of honor, without a bigoted bone in their bodies. They have love for everybody. They just take different paths to problems that need solving. Some people approach from the left, some from the right, but the goal is the same and the problem gets solved for the benefit of all.

Conservative vs Liberal. It's not a war. It's not a competition. It's a different way of looking at the world. Conservative vs Liberal is merely a difference of opinion. Nothing more.

This is not happening today. The people who call themselves conservatives today are not conservatives in the old sense of the word. They are bigots, racists or white supremacists in expensive Brooks Brothers suits, claiming to be Patriots and real Americans, demanding total access to and control of a world not of their making. They stole this bitch from the Indians, and Latinos, and Black people built em a country on it, for goodness sake. Let's get real.

Rush Limbaugh, the defacto chairman of the Republican Party is a clown. The words coming out of his mouth are toxic and meant to divide. Said Rush:

“let me remind you of something. Let me take you back to the Republican convention.....

We had Suzanne Martinez, female Hispanic governor, New Mexico. We had Condoleezza Rice, African-American, former secretary of state. ... We had a parade of minoritieswho have become successful Americans. And they all had a common story: up from nothing, hard work, their parents sacrificed for them.....They told those stories with great pride. Those stories evoked tears. It didn’t work (in attracting voters).”

Well, duh! First off, these people are exceptional in their accomplishments, but not unusual or rare within the people of color universe and that is what Rush and his Ditto-heads miss or don't understand.

The problem with the current Republican Party is its stance on life in general. In order to fit in, one would have to be white, preferably male, Christian-Mormon Christian is apparently okay, now, and believe that life begins as soon as the magic sperm swimmer meets with a viable egg inside a woman's body during intercourse or rape or incest.

Many people of color are not Christian. Half of us aren't even male. And the main point is that the present beliefs of the modern day Republican Party are so outside the realm of reality as to be ludicrous. So ludicrous that the aforementioned Conservatives that I talked about could not be members of this GOP. My granddad is turning over in his grave. General Powell voted for the Democrat. Only Dr. Rice has turned to the dark side among this group.

It is important to note that all aforementioned still consider themselves conservatives, just not like this.

To be sure, there are some rays of hope, the David Stockmans of the world, Meghan McCain, heck even her mother, Cindy. John McCain has gone off the deep end. There is no more hope for him. But there are some who see what is going on, and I truly hope they become strong enough to rescue the party away from the bigots, racists, white supremacists and separatists who have taken over.

The way to signal change, is to simply change:

1. Dump the Republican Party Platform of the past 20 years.
2. Expel the extremists...Grover Norquist, Karl Rove, The Koch Brothers, etc
3. Silence the nut fringe.... Rush, Laura, Ann, Dickie,
4. Invite the real conservatives back to the table
5. Understand that People of Color are just like you

It's like Meghan McCain twitted out on Wednesday:

“I don’t need to do any soul-searching about what the GOP is doing wrong . #evolve,” “Keep calling people like me RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) and see how many elections we keep winning,”

That would be a very good starting place. If that is not acceptable, then the alternative was offered up the Cincinnati Tea Party, based in Lebanon Ohio and calling itself Cincinnati because nobody has ever heard of Lebanon Ohio, or the bigotry toward Blacks that has resided there for my entire lifetime:

"Today the takers clearly outnumber the makers. Government has grown to take over this country instead of a government of the people. Reasons for this loss of our freedom can be found in all national, statewide and local candidate and tax issues," ….... We will be a socialist nation within months. However, a revolution is rising and all those elected officials that are blind to what they have done to this country should be encouraged to become enlightened, should be encouraged to step down and should not be reelected.”

This is like getting your ass-stomped...... you're laying on the ground bloody and beaten to a pulp with somebody's boot on your chest holding a gun to your head and you still sellin' wolf tickets.

Suicide absolute suicide.

Why not evolve and live to fight another day.

Supreme Court Baby Mama Drama

Most of what comes out of the United States Supreme court is as dry and boring as the sands of the Kalahari Desert during a drought. Historically, any drama is usually generated by the justices themselves, such as whether or not Uncle Clarence will break his five year silence and speak from the bench or go home and bitch slap his silly wife, who is this close to getting him impeached.

Normal baby mama drama is left for the lower courts to decide, until now, anyway. Add in the Tea Party, weapons of mass destruction and Phyllis Schlafly and you have a cat fight, the likes of which will cause the boys in Jerry Springer's audience to jump up out of their seats in appreciation.

The story begins on an ordinary note with a cheating husband, a spurned wife and a pregnant mistress. Everybody knows everybody else. In fact the two women are BFFs. Wife and husband tried for years to get pregnant but to no avail. However, while hubby shot only blanks with his wife, he connected on the first, second or maybe third shot with best friend.

Wife, Carol was happy for her friend, that is until she found out who the baby daddy was. Then she was pissed. I mean real pissed. Girlfriend started having panic attacks and losing her hair. But she didn't take it out on Clifford, her husband. She went after Myrlinda, her former BFF.

Carol started calling at all hours of the day and night, leaving nasty messages and threatening to send dead people to Myrlinda's house. It got so ugly that Myrlinda called police and finally Carol was brought up on minor harassment charges and convicted. But it didn't end there.

Carol, who is a microbiologist by profession went on the internet and ordered some kill-you-when-you-touch-it poisons and spread the deadly stuff all over Myrlinda's house, mailbox, car, phone and anything else where she might make contact and die. Only problem was, in her rage Carol didn't think things through enough because she apparently ordered the poisons in powder form and Myrlinda could see the stuff. She tested it with her finger and did burn her finger tip, but it wasn't serious.

Myrlinda called the local cops again and again. They looked at it, said it looked like cocaine to them and that she should have her placed checked out. Then the cops went back to fighting DWB cases and profiling alleged illegal immigrants, leaving Myrlinda to deal with her own dusty house.

The very enraged wife then attempted to poison her rival no less than 24 more times with the same deadly stuff.

Myrlinda didn't know what to do so she told her mailman. Her mailman told his boss. His boss told the postal inspectors and they set up a video sting and caught Carol dumping her potent demon dust all over Myrlinda's property. That led to federal charges. Yes, they called in the feds.

The feds threw the kitchen sink at Carol charging her with terrorism designed to battle terrorists who try to use WMDs against America.  In other words they used the "Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction." This is a treaty between countries to combat the use of WMDs.

Carol and her lawyers immediately said this was not a viable charge and stated the feds had no puppy in this dog race, citing the 10th amendment to the United States Constitution. The 10th amendment is the one that states where federal government power ends and states rights begins. It's a favorite of the teabaggers and conservatives who are attempting to use it against anything Obama, specifically the health care reform law.

Carol was convicted anyway and sent to Club Fed for six years, faces five years of probation and a $2,000 fine when she gets out.

Carol immediately filed suit against the United States Government. An appeals court threw out the suit claiming Carol didn't have standing to bring the suit since the 10th amendment is between federal and state governments, not individuals. Carol is an individual. Carol appealed the ruling.  Tea Party conservatives, Phyllis Schlafly and Eagle Forum, libertarian think tank Cato Institute, NRA activists and the attorneys general of South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Texas, Utah and Colorado have also jumped into the pool on Carol's side.

They don't give a damn about Carol and her baby mama drama, but they do want in on anything that may possibly stick it to the Black man in the White House.

This case is now in Uncle Clarence's lap. The high court is being asked to allow the suit against the USA to go forward and watchers say the justices seem inclined to let that happen. But only their ruling will say for sure what they are thinking. If Carol wins a favorable ruling it will open the door to declaring the recently passed health care law null and void. Which will make the conservative right very happy.

It may also invalidate parts of the United States Constitution.

At this writing...Carol is locked up in Club Fed....Myrlinda is alive and in hiding, one would guess....and Clifford...well he is still married to Carol....girlfriend is standing by her man.

Bush Tax Cuts-Bad Policy Then, Bad Policy Now

Let's cut to the chase, the only reason the Bush tax cuts were passed was to give a gift to rich people in this country. When I say rich people, I'm not talking just republicans. I'm talking all rich people, democrats, included. That's why most Democrats don't want to see the tax cut repealed either, despite their tepid protestations. The Democrats, or a number of them have already proven they don't really care about the people any more than the GOP.

The Bush tax cuts were a Christmas gift that keeps on giving, even as we speak. If left alone by 2020 the tax cuts will take up 1.6% of the GDP.  

So pay no attention to the so called deficit hawks, because if they were really serious about the deficit...we wouldn't be having this conversation.

The lame duck session begins today and it is expected that tax cuts will be the first order of business, that being whether to cancel the tax cuts, extend them for everyone permanently, or extend for a time into the future, or leave them alone and let them die.

What happens if Congress repeals them: simply Congress saves the country 4 trillion dollars.

What happens if Congress extends the tax cuts for everyone permanently: simply, the country and your children and grandchildren will have to shoulder the tab for that 4 trillion dollars, that could have been saved if the tax were repealed.

What happens if Congress temporarily extends the tax cuts into the future: simply, it will make rich people happy and the chances of ever repealing them, thus increasing the deficit even more, will probably never happen. In other words, the gift from Bush will just keep on giving.

The way the cuts are structured 65.5% of the total benefit goes to upper echelons. It's divided in this way.....26.8% to the top 1% and 14.7% to the top 0.1%

Don't like percentages, then look at it this way....for the middle class...these numbers equal a yearly savings of $880 per family....However.....rich people will save $6, 094 each....and the super rich...those making more than $2 million per year in income.....they save annually $339, 483 in savings per the Bush tax cuts.

The poorest and most needy get just $45 from the Bush tax cuts.

$880 is a nice chunk of change for the typical middle class family. However, being able to eliminate 4 trillion dollars from the projected national debt with just one stroke of a pen is much much better for all Americans.

Do this and all of a sudden the GOP/Teabag assault on Medicare and Social Security goes away. A decreasing deficit means the hawks have to find another reason to cut their government down to the nonfunctional size they deem appropriate.

Besides, if you ask the regular middle class guy whether or not he or she would rather have $880 now or their social security intact...I think most people would prefer to have their retirement benefits.

President Obama is on record as wanting to extend the cuts for middle class families. That's the way to go. He is opposed by the GOP which wants to make the tax cuts permanent, never mind the effect on the deficit and government spending. 

The Tea Party campaigned to reduce the deficit. It remains to be seen on what side they will come down on when the stuff hits the fan this week in Congress.

Since we all have a dog in this fight, I would suggest giving your congressmen a call or an email, telling him or her, how you want them to vote.

Damn Ginni, Don' Nobody Wont Cho Man!

Ever since Mrs. Clarence decided to contact Anita Hill, people have been shaking their heads, attempting to figure out the whys and wherefores behind the voicemail.

I mean, it's not like the Thomas/Hill confirmation drama played out last week and the country was still wrapped up in the story.  It happened nearly 20 years ago. A whole generation of people has grown up knowing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as the dummy that Justice Anton Scalia uses when he's in the mood to do ventriloquism tricks from the bench.

Few people other than political junkies remember Clarence the horndog and his infatuation with pubic hairs.  Except maybe his wife.

Virginia seems to be one of those women who thinks every other woman wants her man. The Jerry Springer show is full of these fools, everyday.  She thinks her personal piece of sexy chocolate drives other women wild. Wild enough to lie in front of congress and millions watching a televised hearing to castigate the hapless Clarence who is not only honorable, but also madly in love and completely faithful to wifey Virginia.

In Ginni world, Clarence has no lust in his heart for any other woman.

Ginni even told People Magazine about Anita Hill, back in the day: "I always believed she was probably someone in love with my husband and never got what she wanted."

All righty then! I don't know about you, but I spell sexy chocolate Idris or Boris or Denzel...not Clarence. Clarence equals Clown...Clarence equals Urkel...Clarence equals untrustworthy brotha...need I go on...

To most of the world Clarence is not nearly as hapless or as blameless as his wife would have you believe.

Yeah, he sits on the United States Supreme Court, but he wasn't the first choice for the position. He wasn't even the second choice for position. He wasn't considered competent enough to fill the shoes of the late Justice Thurgood Marshall and remains an embarrassment to Marshall's memory and legacy to this day.

Not only do other women not want this dude...neither did nor does the Black community in general, which I guess is why he ended up married to Saint Virginia in the first place, she of the pale skin and very deep pockets.

There were in fact, other women who spoke out about goodboy Clarence's sexual proclivities at the time of his nomination and confirmation controversies. Those old girlfriends backed up Anita's version, not Ginni's idea of her man.

"The Clarence I know was certainly capable of not only doing the things that Anita Hill said he did, but it would be totally consistent with the way he lived his personal life then." -Lillian McEwen retired judge who dated Thomas from 1979 til the mid 1980's.

I guess Judge McEwen falls into Ginni's bag of scorned women, too. Uh huh...

Whatever...

But maybe, just maybe, Ginni's not as crazy as one might think, given her sudden desire to step out into the tea party limelight with her Liberty Central teabag organization.

Maybe she was simply using her Clarence as a shield...In other words..rehash her husband's controversy to deflect attention off the fact that Ginni's group is gathering in lots and lots of anonymous money to buy back America and keep it the playground that it has become for rich, racist conservatives.

Poor Clarence. Even when someone steps forward to seemingly defend him..he still ends up being the doormat.

GOP Anticipation

Wow! The Good Ole Party of No is sooooooooo sure it's got the mid term elections on lockdown, that it is already telling us, in real terms, what it plans to do over the next two years, starting in January..

They plan to:

1. Abolish the public school system...not just the federal Department of Education..the whole system
2. Privatize and cut back on Social Security
3. Privatize and eliminate Medicare and Medicaid
4. Eliminate Food Stamps for everyone
5. Eliminate federal minimum wage right after they eliminate unemployment insurance
6. Repeal Health Care Reform
7. Repeal all new banking regulations or gut them back to what they were when Bush ran the country.
8. Keep Don't Ask, Don't Tell in place
9. Keep foreign money flowing secretly into GOP coffers
10. Kick all brown immigrants out of the country
11. Forever ban gay marriage
12. Roll back all anti discrimination and anti affirmative action legislation
13. Repeal all pro choice laws and ban birth control
14. Repeal the 14^th Amendment to the Constitution
15. Bring back slavery, reinterpret the Constitution to allow for establishment of a national religion

Okay that last one would literally start a war.....but some of them think they can win that
too...they've armed for that one for a long time...they call it RAHOWA or racial holy war....google it if you don't believe me....

And, the coup de grace....they are going to try to impeach Obama....just like they did with
Clinton....WHY?....you ask...or HOW?

Don't matter....They will think of something...They don't need reasons...this is payback for putting a Black man in the White House...their house...as they see it.....

And who is making all these promises....ALL OF THEM...THE CANDIDATES...THE GOP/ TEABAGGERS....and they just know the Blue Dog Dems will help them out....this is their hole card..

Pick a state....it's nationwide.....from Boehner and Iott, the Nazi...to Chrissy the Pooh....to Sharron “I am so confused” Angle...to Alaska Joe Miller....to Rand “maybe doctor-maybe not” Paul the younger....to Nikki “I did not have sex with that assistant” Haley....to Comb Over Steve Chabot...to Rob “I wrote Bush's Budget” Portman...to Ken “it's okay to F*** up women when they're drunk” Buck...to the Grand Dame of all....Lady Sarah...

White People, The Last Slaves in America

Got a question for you, white people....now that the rich elite have destroyed the middle class, what are you going to do?

There is no middle ground anymore....poor white people are back to being on equal footing with black people....just like back in slavery days in America.

Prior to 1670....poor white people were treated the same as an African slave....Then rich whites got scared.....because when you added black slaves to white indentured servants....the rich guys who owned the plantations were greatly outnumbered...

They feared the po' folks would come in the night and slit their throats and steal their property, in similar fashion to what happened in France during the beheadings in the Revolution....

So they created laws to divide and conquer....stacked the deck, if you will...convinced poor whites they were better than black people....that they were just like rich people...except for the money and property, of course...made them think they could marry their rich daughters and become just like them...wink, wink...They had white skin and were christian....not like those uncivilized non christian blacks from Africa...you can read here

And poor whites jumped at the chance to be seen as the same...not equal....never equal...because who doesn't want to better themselves...the choice is understandable....

But understand.....racism....has always really been about class....not skin color.....

The game they created back in the day is still working today...... rich  people sit back and watch poor white people...the “scum of the earth”(their words for you) do battle for them against the black African “savages”(their words for us)...

An on-going gladiator contest......you against us....them in the stands...

The tea party, the libertarian party, the AIP, the GOP and the Democrats.. for that matter are not and never were grass roots organizations....they are funded by rich people like Dick Armey, George Soros....Liz Cheney...Dick Cheney...The billionaire Koch brothers....or the Rupert Murdochs of the world...

The tea party is led by millionaires named Sarah and Glen and Rush....they don't give a damn about you...they talk for their money...they will say whatever money will have them say...

Think about it.....

They talk about tax cuts.....tax cuts for who....you've already got them....Continuing the Bush tax cuts will add a trillion dollars to the deficit and effectively bind your children and grandchildren into modern day slavery to their off spring for years and years to come....

Reagan quadrupled the deficit....Bush put the deficit into the stratosphere and nearly bankrupted the country and the world....

Spending has been out of control for years....it didn't just happen within the past two years....

Health care.....they've got it or can afford to buy it.....what about you....

Social Security....they want to do away with it.....they don't need it....they have retirement plans and golden parachutes....

Jobs....they don't need them.....they have them......you're lazy because you can't find one...and you don't need unemployment insurance...makes you lazier...

Houses.....yours is foreclosed.....theirs....they probably walked away from a mortgage or two or three...saved em some money...

Schools....they can afford the best education that money can buy....they don't need affirmative action...they have legacies....what do you have poor white people...

Perennial wars.....they don't fight them....you do.....Cheney got five deferments...said he had other priorities then protecting his country.....George W went AWOL for a year....Mitch McConnell got some mysterious discharge...hidden and secret to this day.....

Even when they join they don't serve....they have you as cannon fodder......their kids go to college...yours die in some god forsaken country on the other side of the world...sometimes killed by friendly fire....quietly buried so you never find out the truth....

NAFTA....global trade....outsourced jobs from America....the rich get richer...bigger profits....America dies....middle class disappears....

This didn't happen in the past two years....this has been going on for the past 30-40 years...

That cushion making you seemingly better than blacks is gone...you're in the same boat...as a Mexican swimming the Rio Grande to freedom...

But you'd never know it to hear you talk about it...They control you with fear....nothing more...your fear of being seen as the same as a black or brown man.....

Listen to poor whites....in the same boat as poor blacks....and what do they say.....they admit there are problems...

no jobs....no benefits....too many wars.....but they blame blacks and browns and other things..

To be sure....some whites have awakened and do understand....the ones who went after the Wall Street rich guys in their exclusive neighborhoods...rattled a few enclaves...

Scared the rich guys...but not enough....they still make huge profts while the rest of us flounder...

If we're to take any lessons from history....then it should come from the French Revolution and go after the guys behind the big iron gates....

Time to go band together on our common ground...and go after those who have always had the cake..

Time for us to eat some too...

Isn't it time for you to take the blinders off and to vote for your own self interest...rather than the rich white guy who is spitting at you like he spits at me?

Friday Rap

Burger King is offering mimosas with ciabatta sandwiches in certain markets across the country, testing out something called a Burger King Brunch...

Problem is the mimosa is alcohol free...bummer...what's the point...the only reason to drink mimosas in the first place is for the champagne and vodka....otherwise it's just orange juice in a small glass, with cherries floating on top, or I guess since it's Burger King, a small plastic cup for take out...

Question: Where are the Tea Party protests on Wall Street? How come the teabaggers don't get mad when fat cats steal poor folks blind or nearly bankrupt this country and put everybody out of work?

Corruption is not only the government....it's corporate, too....like the banks... or like the guys who shipped all the manufacturing jobs overseas, while keeping their personal stash in offshore accounts. So they won't have to pay income taxes.

These dudes even sent TARP stimulus money overseas to build bigger and better third world operations to ensure they don't have to bring the jobs back to America...enabled by the double dealing politicians in congress..these dudes don't care about your broke ass..

One last note on the Tea Party....here in Cincinnati the Teabaggers don't like being called teabaggers because they say it is an offensive name...well...knowing human nature for what it is, why would any rational, thinking person name their upstart sorta grass roots organization with a descriptive term that with virtually no manipulation can be construed as a sex act in the first place...you know...you just gotta know...that other name was going to surface and stick in this double entendre universe..

aw shucks...double entendre is French and these jokers believe in "unschooling" their kids...now I get it...

Cops in New York patting themselves on the back because of Operation Phoenix. The covert action was mapped out to take illegal guns off the streets and it was apparently very successful.

I'm waiting for the day when somebody will go after the good ole boys who buy guns down south where weapons are cheap and easy and then transport them up north or to other parts of the country for sale to the gangbangers on the streets.

The system is fixed so the brown and black gangbangers can't buy guns outright...so where do you think they get them?

I'll give you a hint...some good ole boy goes into a gun store where he's welcome...buys up a bunch of pieces...sells them out of the back of his truck to all those urban savages, so they can kill each other..then he goes home where he and his friends can talk and cuss about the lawlessness of the big city, wondering why the police can't get a handle on the situation..

Clue: the cops will get a handle when they stop profiling and start going after the white sellers along with the stupid killers. That is equal opportunity police work.

But then again...it's just like America...fighting two wars against an enemy that gets its guns from America. Blame the colored guys, while ignoring white guy complicity....

Rooster lays eggs-literally...seems this rooster started laying eggs and trying to hatch them after all other hens in the yard died in a blitz attack from some predator animal. Scientists said they've never seen a rooster change sex before.

Fox bags Hannity in Cincinnati

Without FOX News Sean Hannity, the Cincinnati Tea Bag Party, which claims to represent the majority of Cincinnatians, like the national organization alleges it represents all of real America, couldn't fill a college stadium last night for it's big tax day rally.

According to reports, about 7500 people showed, down from the estimated 15,000 expected.

Hannity was pulled reportedly because Fox didn't want him doing a paid gig to benefit a political organization. Seems someone on corporate level thought that a journalist headlining a paid political event is something of a conflict of interest.

Really? Ya Think?

And please, can someone tell me what the teabaggers are protesting. Their taxes went down...the polls say they really do like their social programs like medicare, medicaid and social security...and they are mostly retired..so they are not in the job market...and they already have more money than anyone else...

So what is their problem..hmmmmmmmmmmmm?

Jackie Robinson legacy

63 years after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in major league baseball, many are sounding the alarm about the dwindling number of black Americans playing baseball, these days. The teams are filled with dark men of color, but most of them are from the Caribbean, central or south America..few of them are American born, so the appearance of baseball is deceptive.

Many are calling for programs to get American blacks interested in the game again, which is all well and good, I guess. But I want to know where are the programs for regular Black guys to get into living in general.

Face it...the American Black man is virtually invisible in America today. Oh, we have a Black president in the White House. We have an NFL and an NBA full of big Black guys playing with balls. We have prisons full of young stupid Black guys who dropped out of school, trying to make a quick score and ended up “got” instead.

We have the hip hop life of young men, some of whom are talented making bank, but many more one hit wonders, in debt up to their eyeballs to some white man's record corporation, or dead in the streets attempting to live out some ridiculous gangsta fantasy.

But where are the programs to convince Black guys that education is the key.

Where are the programs that integrate the construction industry. finally. I walk all over Cincinnati, past big time construction projects downtown, the bridges are being painted, Cincinnati's soon to be tallest building is going up...and all I see are white guys and Hispanic guys working on the structures...no Black guys...Cincinnati public schools are building more new schools...plural....yet...no Black guy construction workers....it's so bad the useless NAACP is leading protest marches and getting arrested like back in the day.

What up Cincinnati...we got a Black Mayor...is that enough? Don't make me answer that question...

Why is this the reality in the 21^st century? Why are we more concerned about the lack of Black baseball players rather than the lack of Black men as providers for their families and role models, real role models for their own children?

We don't need anymore LeBron James or Jackie Robinsons for that matter.....we need another WEB DuBois, Carter G. Woodson, Charles Ogletree, or a Robert Johnson with brains...

Rocky Mountain Insanity

Colorado Court says it's okay for Colorado college students to carry guns on campus...That's a great idea considering how well these young students behave so responsibly having proven their ability to multi task so effectively....like driving while texting or partying while fugged up. Guess if they can study with their eyes closed, then they ought to be able to shoot with their eyes open, right?

Nothing like having an ecstasy fueled or testosterone driven 19 year old with gun strapped to his side.

What next...tricycles with built in rifle racks?

White House Closet Jitters

The White House apparently has no trouble putting gays and lesbians in highly visible governmental positions. However it seems to be bothered when somebody tries to yank the closet door open on those LGBT people who have not yet gone public with their preferences.

Seems there is a dust up about whether or not maybe Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagen is a lesbian. CBS News wrote and then retracted the story yesterday. You can check it out here.

Despite being highly touted, Obama hasn't named anybody yet for the SUPCO vacancy. Matter of fact, he can't name anyone until July, after the current session ends. Second, the White House claims that allegations of Kagen being a lesbian, are simply false.

I just have to ask...in the aftermath of the Tiger Woods, Tiki Barber, Sandra Bullock, Melissa Etheridge and now Larry King, why are journalists suddenly reticent to talk about someone's sexual preferences?

Is it deference to the solicitor general, which Kagen is.....or are we still as a society covertly and uncomfortably homophobic, despite the efforts to install real civil rights for LGBT people...

And by the way...Thank you Obama for the hospital visiting privileges..

For Want of a Statesman

Is there not one principled man or woman within the Republican Party willing to step forward and take responsibility for the rabid and violent masses running roughshod over our country? Is there not one person in the GOP who found the uncivil actions of the mob this past weekend, reprehensible and worthy of condemnation?

Or is this what politics and public discourse have become, foul name calling, spit hurled amid threats of violence against those who harbor differing opinions?

Is America just one violent incident away from an attempt to tip over the melting pot that we sorta celebrate as the foundation of the American Dream? Is the dream dead? Or perhaps I should say, are the dreams dead, the American one and Martin's vision of America? Has it died, too?

No one of a certain age in this country is surprised at hearing the words nigger and faggot thrown at us, just because. The only thing missing this past weekend, were the angry police, attacking dogs and fire hoses. Maybe that's progress, ya think? This kind of behavior was at one time codified in law, and continues to be taught as gospel in huge segments of the population. This behavior, if you can get close enough to talk to some of them view it as their god given first amendment right to exercise against us or our ideas. They have a right to say anything and in any way they choose because they were born to this right.

But this is not first amendment. This behavior is not written into the Constitution. This is not protected speech under the law. What happened this past weekend was the exercise of white privilege and the inherent belief that Black and Native Americans are inferior and are therefore subject to the whims of the perceived majority.

The perceived majority, (and I use that term only to reflect that white people are disappearing as quickly as real Black people), has never apologized for anything. The perceived majority has never acknowledged the actions of the past. It refuses to recognize that what this country is today is built on a foundation created from the blood, sweat, tears and determination to survive of people of color. Oh yes, the majority apologized to the Japanese, even paid them to be quiet-reparations for unjust internment that lasted what, five or six years at the most?

Native Americans have never really been absorbed into the fabric while Black people, well we stand out on the fabric like sequins on a party dress, impossible to hide or blend in. Other ethnicities have come to America, and been met with the same vicious discrimination, but with a difference. These other ethnicities, the Irish, and the Italians and the Polish and Slavs, all have white skin, a natural camouflage that eventually allowed them access. So they stepped up and over us, and joined in the “coon-hunt” because we can't blend in, ever.

Anyone who has ever looked at pictures of the 4000 some lynchings that took place in this country and wondered how could so called good people take part, need look at what happened in DC this past weekend at the Tea Party rallies and understand. And for the record, lynching has never been outlawed in America. People simply stepped up to stop it. But who is stepping forward now?

What was different about the past, is that there were people who were willing to come forward, to take the reins and say “enough.” There were people who were willing to lead by both word and example out loud, reminding their mob that we are all children of somebody's god.

There were men who were willing to say “I'm sorry” and know innately that “I'm sorry” would not diminish their character or statesmanship, but would, on the contrary, enhance it. They were not perfect men, by any stretch of the imagination and usually took part in some of the foolishness themselves. However, they were decent men and principled men, tempered in the fires of morality and justice. They knew when they crossed the line and when to step back.

These men didn't stand in the well of the Peoples' House and rant, attempting to substitute lies and profanities for truths and statesmanship. True statesman don't catcall their fellows or verbally attack Presidents, nor condone the cretinous actions of the mob toward the so called opposition.

Real statesmen don't employ a blame the victim mentality, hiding behind hollow words and excuses. At least in sports, the players still shake hands after the game is contested and a winner has been declared. After the game the players and coaches go on television to talk about what went wrong, but not to blames or to castigate the other team. The coach takes responsibility. The players take responsibility for their actions.

Why are there no coaches in politics? Why are there no statesmen or women stepping forward to squelch the ugliness of their followers? Thuggery should not be tolerated in the halls of congress or on the streets of America, especially when directed at other Americans, because in this game, we are all American.

This country is not your country, it is not my country, it is our country. Like or not, we will live and we will die together.
