Naked Ambition

"Turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers. And according to The New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, 'launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol,'" She will say according to excerpts released by the campaign. "Wow. And there’s even more to the story. Barack Obama said Ayers was just someone in the neighborhood. But that’s less than truthful. His own top advisor said they were, quote, 'certainly friendly.'
That’s a quote from Sarah Palin addressing a gathering in Clearwater Florida this morning. She is attempting to portray Obama as dangerous through his associations. This particular slur is being replayed by the McCain campaign in new ads hitting the air waves today.

As was stated before, Obama was 8 years old when William Ayers was doing his thing with the Weather Underground. I was in college at the time. I remember them well. A bunch of rich white kids with way too much time on their hands and money at their disposal. They were mad at everybody and they bought bombs to blow things up...not battling for civil rights as the rest of us were doing. Ayers has apparently paid his debt to society and is now a college professor. He and Obama apparently served on some charity board together and he then threw a party for Obama’s campaign.

Question for you....Which is worse....sitting on a charity board with a former radical from the sixties...or sleeping with a real live active terrorist in the same bed?

Isn’t it time to talk to Governor Palin about the associations of her husband, Todd, with the Alaskan Independent Party? The AIP wants to secede from the USA. They have a slogan that says Alaska First, not Country First. . Read what Wikipedia says about the AIP and it’s associations with the Constitution Party.

When Palin gave her acceptance speech, she wore the flag of Alaska, not the stars and stripes of America. The AIP earlier said the governor was also a member, but I guess the McCain camp got to her to make her disavow her association. The AIP also apparently flip flopped under pressure.

Let me ask you this...with the exception of 9/11 hijackers, who had Saudi Arabian passports ....Who were the terrorists that have attacked this country?....were they homegrown...did they look like Obama...or do they bear a striking resemblance to the First Dude of Alaska?

Do the young dudes with unlimited access to money, to weaponry, shoot up their schools, kill their classmates and voice hate for this country, look like Obama....or do they resemble Todd Palin?

Do the men of Ruby Ridge, Waco, Oklahoma Bombing, Posse Comitatus, The Identity movement, That bunch pushing RAHOWA (racial holy war), look like the Obamas of the world...or do they look like Sarah Palin’s husband? Hell, does Bill Ayers look like Obama....or does he look and sound more like Todd Palin?

I’m not afraid of the men who look, act and talk like Barack Obama. Terrorists who look like Obama are held in check by racism. Everybody is always looking for the big bad black man or arab, while the white guy with the dynamite and AK-47 gets a pass..from the government, from cops, from their neighbors and yeah, even us black people. But, honestly, I’m very afraid of guys like Todd Palin and the women who back them up. There is a very big difference to sitting on a board or attending a party, then between joining and participating in an organization that wants to do away with the United States of America. We’re not talking history here...the weather underground doesn’t exist anymore. The AIP is active as we speak.

These guys are out in the open with their feelings and as it were...one heart beat away from the presidency of the country they want to do destroy.

I know Todd’s not running for office, but his wife is and no one is asking her the tough questions about her associations with the militants in her closet and her bed, or the crazy preacher at her church. She needs to talk about it if she is going to throw mud at people.

I have already said that I believe John McCain is a Manchurian candidate. If you know the story, the term refers to a brain washed prisoner of war soldier who comes back to America and runs for president, thereby implementing a bloodless coup of the United States.

I think we should not only look at the candidate himself, but the associates he intends to bring with him into the White House.

Let me put it another way, McCain is batshit crazy and we're in deep, deep trouble...

OOPS!

Since I live in that great swing state of Ohio, I get more than my fair share of campaign this and that, on television during the day. I usually have the telly on while doing housework. Not watching, just halfway listening for anything important.

Well, there it was, BREAKING NEWS, John McCain and Sarah Palin are live, in Columbus, and John is addressing the rather rowdy crowd.

Papa Smurf began by saying wonderful things about his running mate and promising that she was going to win Thursday's debate against Joe Biden. Then he launched into a self congratulatory back pat about the bailout. Thanks to him, the economy was saved. And he did it without any help from Barack Obama and those damned Democrats;

I put my campaign on hold for a couple days last week to fight for a rescue plan that put you and your economic security first. I fought for a plan that protected taxpayers, homeowners, consumers and small business owners.

I went to Washington last week to make sure that the taxpayers of Ohio and across this great country were not left footing the bill for mistakes made on Wall Street and in Washington.

Some people have criticized my decision, but I will never, ever be a president who sits on the sidelines when this country faces a crisis. Some of you may have noticed, but it's not my style to simply "phone it in."

I am a Teddy Roosevelt Republican. I believe our leaders belong "in the Arena" when our country faces a challenge. I've never been afraid of stepping in to solve problems for the American people, and I'm not going to stop now.

Senator Obama took a very different approach to the crisis our country faced. At first he didn't want to get involved. Then he was "monitoring the situation." That's not leadership, that's watching from the
sidelines.

He got lots and lots of applause while flashing that creepy smile of his. Then, apparently the bottom fell out.

Because, less than an hour later, the bailout failed, by 12 votes.....12 republican votes.

The Democrats had promised 140 votes and they delivered...The GOP, led by John McCain if you believe the words coming out of his mouth, promised 60...But they didn’t get ‘em....hmmmmmmmm

So what does great leader do? Gets back on his straight talk express and sulks, until his minions craft together a statement, and lets them read it to reporters rather than deliver it himself.....and you guessed it.....blaming Obama for the bailout defeat...

"From the minute John McCain suspended his campaign and arrived in Washington to address this crisis, he was attacked by the Democratic leadership: Senators Obama and Reid, Speaker Pelosi and others," Holtz-Eakin said. "Their partisan attacks were an effort to gain political advantage during a national economic crisis. By doing so, they put at risk the homes, livelihoods and savings of millions of American families."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also got some blame for the defeat, after chastising President Bush's free market economic policies, for pushing Republicans away from the bill.

"Barack Obama failed to lead, phoned it in, attacked John McCain, and refused to even say if he supported the final bill," Holtz-Eakin said. "Just before the vote, when the outcome was still in doubt, Speaker Pelosi gave a strongly worded partisan speech and poisoned the outcome. This bill failed because Barack Obama and the Democrats put politics ahead of country."

The entire Arizona and Alaska House delegations voted against the bailout bill.

That’s some leadership, John....getting one upped by that uppity elitist junior senator from Illinois and you the 26 year maverick senior senator from Arizona...

While we’re at it...I may as well spread some blame around, too. Back in 1999, McCain voted for a bill that was authored by his old buddy Phil Gramm...you remember him...the guy who said all this financial meltdown was a figment of our imagination and that Americans were whiners...

That 1999 deregulation bill was the Commodity Futures Modernization Act - 265 pages of voodoo economics that accelerated this crisis on Wall Street..The crisis began with the election of Ronald Reagan, but we'll save that history lesson for another day.

This bill also included the Enron Loophole....Remember that one?

Gramm, by the way is McCain’s choice for Sec. of the Treasury, if he makes it to the White House.

As late as last week, McCain said the economy was sound and that deregulation was a good thing.

Hey John! It’s Not Just Hillary....

It’s ALL women, dude! The same people who hate Hillary and don’t want a woman president...are not gonna put a neophyte female within a heartbeat of the red phone.

Dude...what were you thinking? You’re 72 years old...happy birthday..BTW (that’s by the way, since you don’t know computer)....You’re almost at your biblical allotment of time on this planet...your ticker is slowing down....people question whether you can handle it because of your age and forgetfulness....

And you choose a woman as running mate?

Smacks of desperation to me....your vicious attacks on Obama haven’t given you the bounce the little rovies told you, you would get. The details of your policies are a wee bit sketchy. I know man, it’s hard to cram...I had trouble doing it when I was studying econ....and the fact you never studied in the first place and now rarely pay attention to what’s going on....I’m sure your head is swimming in this brave new century...

I know, I know....You’re trying to keep the “Cindy” effect going....she takes care of you...pays for your houses and buys you those expensive ferragamo loafers...she wants you to look good and prosperous.

Compared to her...I can understand why you think anyone making less than 5-million dollars is just middle class.

Do you get free beer too? I read somewhere where she had a Clydesdale statue on the lawn instead of a jockey.

So you chose Governor Palin to take care of you and draw out the monolithic female voting block. All those soccer moms in the Midwest...those upward climbing middle management multitasking superbabes in the west...and those frustrated Hillraisers in the east...spurned by your opponent.

I’ll bet you think they’re all just dropping their drawers, waiting with baited breath to see you get to the White House now that you’ve chosen a female running mate.

Wow, If governor Palin had been black.....maybe you would’ve pulled people like me...black and lesbian women....

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That’s too much to hope for.

But John, choosing a woman running mate is sooooooooooo 20th century....Didn’t Mondale do that already....and I don’t recall a President Mondale anywhere in history....and I actually like Geraldine...not Flip....Ferraro...

And, John, what about this war thing.....is she qualified to command our troops...will our allies talk to her? Oh, I my bad....your buddy George has chased away all of our allies...We stand proudly alone in this universe, right now.

John, there are still the problems of all those bothersome female issues.......equal pay, health care, child care, education.....

Is Governor Palin gonna change your mind. Or is it just more of the same..Stand behind your man and shut up, unless I remember you’re there, and ask you a question or volunteer you to model a bikini or something....

I don’t know what I’m gonna do, John, I was all prepared for Max Headroom...I even had my subject line already picked out.......The Manchurian candidate Meets Max Headroom...

I guess I’ll have to file it away for another day..

Well, John...Happy birthday, again...you take care of yourself...get in a good nap in coming days...you’re gonna need it...

Blackwell's Rules.....The Attempt to Control the Vote in Ohio

There is something terribly wrong with a system when a candidate for Governor can issue rules governing who can vote in an election. America is not a dictatorship form of government, so how is this happening? Well, it's happening here in Ohio where the Secretary of State is running for governor. And, the Secretary of State is in control of how State elections are conducted. He is the one who makes up the rules of play.

The man in question is Ken Blackwell. He has once again put into place "emergency" regulations that could possibly criminalize the work of voter registration workers. The rules appear to be another blatant attempt to shut down voter registration in Ohio.

Blackwell has a history of these kinds of tawdry tricks on the electorate. In 2004, he instructed county boards of elections to reject any registrations on paper that was the "wrong" paper stock. He backed down under harsh and wide spread criticism. But the order was in place long enough to get some registrations invalidated.

This time around He has come up with a rule that says paid registration workers, and volunteers who collect registrations, must PERSONALLY take the forms they collect to the election office.

Now organizations, like the League of Women Voters, for instance, generally have their volunteers turn in the forms to a supervisor who then takes them to the election office after first reviewing them for errors.

Blackwell's rule would make everyone involved in the exchange a criminal.

Blackwell also says the forms CANNOT be mailed to the election office. That would seem to be a violation of federal elections law.

Blackwell issued these edicts because he feels he has the backing of the Republican Controlled Ohio Legislature.

The moves are a clear grab at power and an attempt to keep the GOP in control of Ohio.

If Blackwell were as honest and as forth right as he wants us to believe then he would have given the election procedures control over to someone who has nothing to gain.

He does not deserve the power with which he has been entrusted.
