Priesse and Akin, Too Many Dumb Asses, Not Enough Time

I am so tired...bigots and the chronically ignorant, drive me up a wall and this week, we've got several from which to choose.

Spent the past couple of days dealing with the idiot from Missouri, Todd Akin, who apparently doesn't understand how pregnancy works, nor the difference between having sex and being raped.

Akin exposed for the clueless,  the general consensus thinking of the entire GOP. in that women can only get pregnant when they want to. Therefore they don't need contraception nor fertility help. It's all inside our body, just like those transvaginal probes they've been dying to stick into our birth canals. It's also up to government to protect idjit, and naive men from bad women who also routinely lie about pregnancy and how it comes about, thus entrapping the poor unsuspecting males with false claims of rape and paternity.

The GOP platform, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, will officially assume these ignorant positions next week during the Republican convention in Tampa.

At last word, Akin is continuing his run for the United States Senate, to which I can only say...please...please....send this fool packin!

While all this hoopla was going on nationally, here in Ohio, one of John boy Kasich's minions stuck his foot into his mouth, revealing the racism festering inside the State Capital.

Said Doug Priesse and Kasich advisor in an email to the Columbus Dispatch newspaper, about lengthening early voting hours to accommodate those who prefer to vote before the election;

I guess I really actually feel we shouldn’t contort the voting process to accommodate the urban — read African-American — voter-turnout machine.”-Doug Priesse

And with that stupidity tripping off his lips, Priesse shut down weekend early voting in Ohio. Statistics show early voting is a tool Blacks use to vote, since most are working during business hours, the only time to vote is on the weekends.

However, Kasich and his boys know that Blacks ain't necessarily turning out for his boy Mitt Romney, so they had to figure out other ways to suppress the vote. They came up with this one after other voter suppression methods were exposed and halted. It should be noted that Doug Priesse, in addition to being Kasich's chief advisor, is also head of the Ohio Republican Party.

The Ohio GOP has a history of voter suppression. You will recall the efforts of homeboy Ken Blackwell, who among other things stooped so low as to demand that only a certain type of paper could be used for ballots. It had to weigh a certain amount or it couldn't be counted. He did this while Secretary of State of Ohio. And of course, this was after he managed to “disappear” more than 200,000 black votes in Cleveland to give Bush the election in 2000. Blackwell attempted to screw with the vote in 2004 as well.

The GOP knows it can't win an election outright if people turn out to vote, so they do everything in their power to steal elections and they've gotten good at it, too.

The thing these two dumb asses have in common is that they exposed what is general thinking inside their party. They don't see anything wrong with what they did or said. It was just business as usual for the Republicans machine. The republican machine was not happy about being exposed, but again, they don't understand the error of their ways.

Vote responsibly in November

Kasich War on Women

Oh man, has the Republican National Committee been doping their stooges with stupid pills or something?

Nationally and locally these GOP fools have gone all the way crazy. Usually, they are more circumspect with their misogynistic tendencies, fearing they might anger their own women, I would guess.

But not today. NO! John-boy Kasich just banned abortion coverage for women in Ohio. How did he do that considering Roe v Wade is still the law of the land, at least for today anyway.

Dur Fuhrer Kasich signed HB 79 into law that prohibits the sale of abortion coverage in insurance plans...even if you pay for it out of your own pocket.

No government funds involved here. This is private citizen money. Your money. Our money. Not taxpayer money.

No, the man is telling us, that WE the people CANNOT buy insurance coverage with an abortion rider, which has been standard practice for women since the implementation of the Hyde Amendment, which bans the use of federal money for all abortions.

I thought the teabaggers wanted government OUT of our lives. I guess that only matters if you have a penis between your legs. Only those with three legs qualify for full citizenship in America these days.

And you know this fool and his state minions co signed on the lawsuit against the Affordable Health Care Law, stating the government cannot mandate the sale of insurance.

But Kasich and the idjits in Columbus feel they can dictate to women if not to men.

Women apparently don't count...We're apparently not smart enough to make decisions about our own bodies, healthcare, or family planning.

We're just plain stupid ass bitches who need to be looked after by the masters of the universe.

Know what's even worse....Kasich...the self avowed ignoramous...who doesn't read newspapers...books or the United States Constitution...apparently doesn't read the Ohio State Constitution either...

You know the one he is supposed to be upholding...

It is illegal under the Ohio State Constitution to ban or prohibit the sale of health insurance or health care....Article I, section 21B...

Let's just skip the recall and impeach this fool!

Kasich Fiddles While Cincinnati Burns

Governor playing politics with the lives and well being of Ohio's citizens.

Hey John,

It's been what, two, three weeks since you pulled the plug on the casino project in order to pump some more cash into your homies pockets out in California. I'm sure they're  lovin' you handing them a  study of the people-mandated casino project, here in Ohio.

Hell, I'd be happy to do your study for you too at $400 an hour. And just like them, I'd probably be taking my time finding your answers or solutions that fit your plan, whatever that happens to be, since  I'm not really sure what it is you're doing. Especially since you managed to convince a lot of people that you were going to create jobs first and for everyone, if they made you governor.

But so far instead of creation, you've rained down total destruction on the Buckeye State. No part in the national  light rail system, no street car for Cincinnati, less school funding, making criminals of honest working people and this casino thing which, as if you didn't know, hurts all the big cities in Ohio, not just Cincinnati. The casino wasn't federal...it was Ohio...If you want to hurt Obama... refuse the stimulus funds...trash health care reform...don't screw your own people....although refusing funds and killing health care is the same as making us bend over without benefit of vaseline....it would take longer to feel it than the up close and personal baseball bat whack on our knees that you delivered with the casino suspension.

In fact, you've been a busy little beaver up there in Columbus, when you're not flitting around the state attempting to convince us constituents that you have our best interests at heart. Buy a clue, John, the best way to convince us of your concern for us was to let well enough alone. Let the jobs roll, so to speak. But along with destroying what work force we have left since your president, Dubya, left office, (you remember him, I think), you've also allowed the crazy fringe of your party to declare war on women and children.

What's up with that? You ticked off at your wife? Well why take it out on the rest of us?

But I digress, let's get back to this casino thingey. You know your study is bogus. There was no need to pull the plug and study the matter. The people...as in we the people...voted and approved the measure by a very big margin. It was and remains a good deal. Your input was totally unnecessary. All you had to do was drive the bus and not drive over us in the process. But all you saw was space and opportunity for making money for you and your cronies, and no amount of spin is going to change the fact that you are playing politics with the lives of the people.

I mean come on....your California buddies have a working relationship with the casinos in Indiana..you know the ones that Ohio's casinos are going to compete against if they ever get built? Can't you see the problem with your sudden attempt at a cash grab at our expense?

You just  had to prove you're in charge. You're the man. You're our second rate John Wayne wannabe cowboy of a governor who couldn't wait to trash the state, stop the recovery, kill the comeback in education, put another nail in the coffin of the disappearing middle class.

If you wanted to play cowboys and indians, why didn't you move to Texas? There's a fool down there who wants to secede from the Union. Maybe if you put your half a brain with the quarter of a brain housed in his skull, you might figure out a way to be annexed by Mexico and Ohio would be in the midst of major recovery, instead of backslidding into bankruptcy once again.

Heck, Texas annexed by Mexico would be a good thing for you GOP/teabaggers...fewer American mouths to feed...smaller government, right...that's what y'all keep preachin', isn't it?

Every few days the news media asks you "whass up, Gov?"  And your office says the email update is coming, and nothing lands in the inbox that day or the next. So what, you having your emails delivered by the postal service? Is there someone in your office who understands the workings of the "send" button?  Inquiring minds want to know, John.

Either way, you need to ask somebody and quick.

Talk at cha later Gov.

Dear John Kasich-An Open Letter

Dear Governor,

I am one of your constituents who did not vote for you in the last election, and based upon your work since your swearing in, my fears about your inability to handle the job have come to quick fruition. Your past record revealed you to be anti woman, anti worker,  anti black and anti gay, and that is why you didn't get my vote in the first place since I am all of the above. Well, you certainly didn't lie to us about it. I will give you credit for that. If your goal is to drive away everyone from Ohio who is not male, white and over 60..you're succeeding royally.

You ran on a platform of jobs and prosperity for  all the people of Ohio. Yet you didn't see fit to put Blacks,  minorities and women in your cabinet, and we have seen no jobs materialize. In fact, we have seen them rapidly disappear as you have trashed in short order, Ohio's participation in a nationwide light rail system, killed Cincinnati's grab at 21st century people friendly relevance by destroying the streetcar project, and now, you've tanked the Casinos...all of em in Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland.

In Cincinnati, there is a hole in Broadway Commons where the Casino is supposed to go. That hole matches the one in my gut that has been there since you snuck into the Governor's mansion by the slimmest of margins. The casinos were voted upon and approved by WE THE PEOPLE, before you got into office. It was working. People were working. People were making plans to work, by investing in the surrounding area. There was literally a renovation going on. But  not now. That big sucking sound you hear is the oxygen being driven out of the Ohio Valley, from your blow to our collective solar plexis.

Your desire to study the matter is nothing more than  politics at it's ugliest. It wasn't even an original idea, but came from a crony of yours, if reports are to be believed. There was no concern for Ohioans. It was only another way for you and yours to steal another buck from taxpayers...Damn the people...I want mine...that's what you did. And your buddy's firm is not even from Ohio. Your casino deal study is being done by a California company where your friend works or owns.  Not even one job resulted for an Ohioan from this gubernatorial power play. And according to news reports, your consultants get a cut of the take, a cut, possibly amounting to 13-million dollars funded by us taxpayers. Have you no shame? The arrogance of your behavior defies belief.

You've put forth a budget that literally will kill what is left of the middle class and relegates to invisibility anyone who happens to find himself living below the poverty level. Thanks to you, death panels are soon to be a reality in Ohio, because you've made it so. It may not be his strength, but is balancing budgets one of your strengths? Learn about accounting schools online.

In one fell swoop you've managed to destroy the progress being made by Ohio public schools. You apparently not only like your women barefoot and pregnant, you want your sons dumbed down, too.

You've made it possible for folks to lose their job simply because they are willing to speak up about injustices at work.  No more collective bargaining. The new rules are kiss the ring of your employer or let your family starve.

You've made it impossible for people to buy insurance or get coverage for their significant other if that person doesn't happen to line up with your vision of a traditional American family.

You've apparently decided to stand silent as the more extreme members of your party wage open warfare on women. What health care coverage that women can buy now is mediocre at best. The laws being proposed in the legislature send the signal to young women that male sex toy and baby making machine is what they  should aspire to in life. No Pell grants necessary when half the population stays home and raises the progeny of the masters of the universe such as yourself.

I guess your definition of  "cool" is staying in Ohio, single, straight,  jobless, and stupid, working at a McJob without health care insurance.

You've spent your first 100 plus days traveling around Ohio justifying your "my way or the highway" stance on everything. When are you going to do the work you were hired to do, which is put Ohio back to work?

Inquiring minds want to know Mr. Governor. Feel free to respond, but I won't hold my breath.

Respectfully yours

jo

" Honest George, I Really, Thought Turkeys Could Fly!"

Kids, too apparently...In Porkopolis...the land of flying pigs and turkey drops..

So, Cincinnati otherwise known as Porkopolis or the Queen City, builds a new school down in the East End about five years ago, as part of a massive new school construction project.

This new school happens to land in the flood plain of the Ohio River, sitting  on the banks of the great Ohio in fact. The construction gods of Cincinnati Public Schools have the school built  on stilts...to keep the school from flooding and being damaged by high water.

However, they apparently didn't take into consideration how the kids would access the school once the water rose.  Not if...but when the water came up...nor did they consider where teachers and administrators would park or get  safe access to work while the Ohio River is out of it's banks.

Kids and teachers have already been displaced twice this year by rising water...so far...and this was after using up their calamity days because of snow...we've had a lot of bad weather this year.

And...The shiny new school isn't even situated on the site of the old school...The site was actually moved TO the flood plain....in a place that floods even when there are no record breaking rains swamping the Ohio valley, like right now.

So what did school officials do....outsource this school construction project to people who don't live in Ohio and have no idea about how often the area floods nor how to crack a history book and look it up?...Ohio flooding info...complete with pictures is on the internet...and always front and center is the East End, which is what we're talking about here...

Maybe they got tripped up by the name change...East End and Eastern Avenue were changed to Riverview in an attempt to attract rich people to what was one of the poorest white sections of Cincinnati....But call it East End or call it  Riverview or call it Columbia Tusculum...it still floods...yearly.

And I know the rich people are building on the hills overlooking the East End...but then water affects hills, too...witness the occasional mudslides that shut down Columbia Parkway access. Put enough million dollar condos up in them thar hills and the East End will start looking like a landslide of Pacific Palisades, California proportions.

As for the kids...well...they are being shipped off to high ground.... Burton Elementary in Avondale....just behind my house...Burton Elementary was closed a few years ago and the kids there dispersed to other nearby elementary schools...Burton was stipped of electricity and other utilities at the time...These necessities have since been replaced because the kids from the river school are temporarily being housed there while the water is up.....they are in fact being bused..and probably have to get up earlier...their parents have to make unusual accomodations, etc...seems like a lot of wasted money and effort..

I guess the permanently shuttered Burton is the temporarily permanent solution to flooded Riverview, since nobody is talking about studying the matter or moving the school out of the flood plain..

The school is pleasing to the eye...where it sits on its stilts by the River....however...pretty is not always functional, is it....school kids need function and simplicity...not pretty and useless...

The Riverview kids are good kids....I see them when they turn up at the local Avondale Library...which is crowded even on slow days...It literally overflows when the Riverview kids come to the neighborhood and mingle with the Avondale kids. Maybe Avondale needs a new library to accomodate the increase in clientele...

Meantime....Cincinnati Public Schools are laying off a couple of hundred people because of decreasing state education money...as teabag Governor John Kasich continues his plan to privatize education by funding charter schools...bolstering home schooling...while defunding the public schools...

Oh, what a world...what a world...

Sing!

"hey there..if you've ever wondered...wondered whatever became of me...I'm livin' off the air in Cincinnati...Cincinnati WKRP!"

John Kasich, You're Fired!

There is no law on the Ohio books to allow for the recall of a sitting governor, but there should be. Six months after the perfect storm of the midterm November elections, the teabaggers have swallowed up the GOP and have begun to reshape America in their ultra conservative anti woman, anti black, anti gay, anti union, anti poor people image.

The perfect storm was created when Blacks, young people, many gays and lesbians and just about everyone else except old white people stayed home in droves from the polls, apparently thinking their vote wasn't really necessary or were disillusioned at the pace that Obama was working to change things.

Six months later, it has become painfully obvious that the freedoms and civil rights that we take for granted, are now on the chopping block. Conservatives have begun reshaping America state by state, just as they have done to the Federal Court system in the past several years, all the way to the Supreme Court.

Kasich's first act as governor was to privatize job creation in Ohio, by turning over the job creation function to a non profit corporation that he chairs. Of course this was after he cut administrative wages across the board in order to give his job board and personal assistants a pay increase. He labeled the decrease in wages as a cost saving measure for the state.

Then Kasich got to work on House Bill 5 which bans collective bargaining for unions and makes criminals of anyone daring to take part in a strike against their employer. More than 350,000 union members are affected by this...and I would suspect that many of them voted for the GOP during the midterms, never expecting the GOP to turn on its own....surprise!

A rider on this law also repealed domestic partnership law in Ohio doing away with a long fought for civil rights for the Ohio LGBT community.

Kasich has declared war on Cincinnati, by playing politics with the planned street car, and gambling casino. Kasich pulled the plug on promised state money for the project, effectively killing jobs and possibly the project itself. He has also thrown a monkey wrench into the casino project, hiring an out of state firm to oversee the project, doing away with the time frame for getting the Casino open next year. The street car would have enabled visitors to get around downtown Cincinnati without having to worry about a car or the need to buy gasoline.

Today comes word that he is going to cut the money for child care and head start for those who can least afford it.

None of this has anything to do with deficit reduction or job creation, rather the opposite.....Kasich is playing politics with the very lives and existence of Ohioans. He says he wants to make Ohio “cool”.....well....news flash.... this ain't it Bra....

Meanwhile....Across the country:

GOP/teabag electives are attempting to nullify any federal law with which they don't agree.

Women are being stripped of health care. Health care for women has never been equal to that for men. It is even less so now. Some states such as Virginia have passed laws literally shutting down women's health clinics. These clinics are being shut down, say conservatives, to keep federal money from paying for abortions...Well, here's some breaking news for conservatives....The Hyde Amendment that prohibits using federal funds for abortion procedures is still law....AND...abortion is still legal in America....

Gays and lesbians are in danger of losing recent hard won civil rights...reversing the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, losing domestic partner rights in Ohio (it was a rider on the bill that outlawed collective bargaining), as well as re-entrenchment of Defense of Marriage Acts.

By the way....Speaker of the House....Ohioan John Boehner is demanding the Justice Department reimburse Congress for the money it will use to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. This after Obama told Justice not to defend what is clearly a discriminatory law.

Concealed carry gun rights have come to college campuses in at least three states......nothing like a 19 year old drunken frat boy with a fully loaded gloc pistol strapped to his waist under his hoodie.

Congressman Paul Ryan has introduced and gotten passed in the House, a budget that will require senior citizens to pay $6,400 more when they qualify for Medicare, that is if they qualify. Ryan's plan eliminates the guarantee to provide Medicare and Medicaid to senior citizens, now defined as anyone over 55 years of age.

In fact, two thirds of Ryan's measure cuts low income programs...a balancing act on the backs of the poor. All this while expanding tax cuts for the rich and repealing regulations on business and wall street.

Ryan's bill also cuts Pell Grants for all 9 million college students, putting higher education further out of reach for many. One million, in fact, would be cut from the program starting next year.

Food stamps will be cut by $127 billion dollars over the next 10 years if Ryan gets his way.

100,000 kids will be cut from Head Start beginning next year.

At least 20 states are following Wisconsin and Ohio's lead to limit the rights of its citizens....to roll back long fought for job and collective bargaining rights.....to keep women from adequate health and family planning care.....and to rollback or install discriminatory laws aimed at gays and lesbians.

Public education and the environment are also under attack at a time when we can least afford it.

25 legislatures and 29 governor's offices were turned over to the GOP during the mid term election last November.

So tell me....How's that GOP/teabag “take back our country” thingey workin' for ya?

There is a recall petition circulating in Ohio and online, to throw Kasich out of office...If you happen to run across it...Sign it please....

Blowback

Today's word is "blowback!"

Blowback as in what's going to happen once Ohio Governor John Kasich signs house bill 5 into law. It passed the State Legislature last night following a day of debate in Columbus. This bill effectively neuters Ohio's unions by making strikes illegal, outlawing collective bargaining except for safety equipment and eliminating seniority.

Kasich says this will go a long way in helping to balance Ohio's budget. Maybe. But what about the raises Kasich gave his minions upon taking office? If we can't afford to help the people of Ohio by way of social programs, how the devil can we, the people afford to pay wall street salaries to those in government who pretend to have our best interests at heart.

History shows us that a good leader is one who does not ask his followers to do anything that he, himself would not do. So how can Kasich give his cabinet a raise, and take his own paycheck when he is asking the rest of us to bite the bullet and live on less money?

Are we the people supposed to take our happiness watching the gov and his boyfriends live it up on our nickel? Are we the people supposed to be sustained on the sizzle rather than the steak?

Just askin'.

We, the people can do something, if we're not happy about Kasich and company starting with signing the petitions to place House Bill 5 on the November ballot. If we do this and then actually turn out and vote, we may actually be able to kill HB 5.

State level blowback of the best kind!

Federal Blowback

Teabag hypocrisy is surfacing in DC like turds in a toilet bowl. Seems many of those alleged deficit hawks have been sucking at the public tit for years, by way of farm subsidies. A report out today says they have literally pocketed billions of dollars in the past 15 years or so. Yet, while they are ready to cut off the tit at the breast bone for the rest of us, they are expressing reticence about turning loose the nipple themselves, and these guys are millionaires without the subsidy bucking them up.

Heck, did you know there is a law that allows these jackels to give back some of their salary as well as health care benefits to the government to help pay down the federal deficit?

Did you know that of 535 members of Congress, only two congressmen have chosen to do so?

Some well placed blowback in the form calls to your congressman or woman demanding they divest of their subsidies, their paycheck and their health would go a long way in making me believe that a government shutdown and cuts to all social programs are our only options.

White House Blowback

Word is we're thinking of arming the Libyan rebels against Moammar and his family.  Word is we're spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a day in a country that does not give us oil or anything else for that matter. Libya is important to our allies in the region so that is the justification being tossed around.

Okay, so we arm these guys and what happens....are they the Taliban in the making for the 21st century? That's how we got Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, back in the day.

Just like war...you can't half ass regime change either. What is needed is a 007 type action in Libya. Somebody needs to "sanction" old Moammar and his son and bloodthirsty daughter, but be direct and upfront about it.  A well placed bunker buster bomb or two or three, would do the trick. Done, with no boots on the ground.

America has been half assing war in Iraq and Afghanistan for years, allowing Americans to watch the sanitized version on television from the comforts of our very safe suburban homes, when we should never have been there in the first place. If it is regime change, then go in and shoot the so n so in the head and come home. If it's war, make the country a parking lot and be done with it.

America is the only country known to destroy nations and then spend billions to rebuild them so they can attack us again and again using our money and our weapons to do it.

Or maybe this is job security Pentagon style, ya think?

There is a lot of waste down Pentagon/Department of Defense way...Maybe we the people should harrass our congressmen to make some deep cuts in that direction, if they really want to make some headway on the deficit.

It is not in our country's best interest to keep building outdated weapons systems to fight illegal wars, or funding crooked contractors or blackwater type mercenaries when the people are hurting.

To paraphrase Mr. Spock..."sometimes the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one!"

Where is our Vulcan when we need him? At least Obama has the ears...

Let's hope he has the heart and fortitude to put an end to this self defeating cycle in which we're stuck.

Blowback..

The War on Poor People

"Callin' out around the world, are you ready for a brand new beat? Summer's here and the time is right for dancin' in the streets! They're dancin' in Wisconsin, Alabama, too. Can't you hear the music playin' down in Ohio, too?"

There is something seriously wrong with a universe in which poor people and the little money they take home to feed their kids is considered a problem. Think about it, one man on wall street takes home a paycheck in 2010 totaling 5-billion dollars. That is $1159.00 for every second of every day for the 365 days. This 5-billion dollar paycheck follows a 4-billion dollar check from a couple of years ago to the same man.

Yet, there was hardly a peep out of anyone, anywhere. The teabaggers in the House didn't blink, sitting quietly as he testified before a House subcommittee, defiantly justifying his take home pay. No outrage about the lopsidedness of the pay structure. No concern about the people at the other end of the ladder worrying about meeting their mortgages. No wonderment at how one company can pay one man so much, yet not be able to add more hourly workers in order to help the country get its unemployment under control. No talk that congress was kicking the can down the road and foisting the problem off on future generations.

The newly elected members of the House of Representatives, the governors of many states, including Wisconsin, Ohio and Florida have decided that the problem is poor people and the money they make in order to live.  It's their money, in 40 and 50-thousand dollar yearly chunks that will bankrupt their kids down the road. The benefits they won through collective bargaining is bad. Collective bargaining is bad. They don't deserve to be able to talk back to their bosses who still get automatic pay raises and bonuses tallying in the millions and billions of dollars.

All this despite few if any pay raises to equal the cost of the living for the past several years or of having to live with wage freezes because their companies tell them there is no money to pay them, or to fund their pension plans. The workers are told they will have to work more and longer if they want to make enough money on which to live.  John Kasich of Ohio even thinks anyone bold enough to talk back, should be fired for insubordination.

Kasich bragged about the pay raises he gave his  virtually all white male, minority-free staff before they took office, all the while refusing stimulus funds designed to tie Ohio into the projected high speed rail system and create jobs. He also is refusing education funds designed to improve Ohio schools and elevate the intellect of Ohio kids who rank right up there with a box of rocks.

These same legislators are leading the challenge against health care reform, against women in general,  against reform on wall street, against medicare and medicaid and social security. Pensions need to be cut because investment counselors like the good governor of Ohio used to be, fumbled the pass and dropped the ball, losing billions of dollars for the working class. Too many people are out of work and using the system to survive, so it needs to be brought under control and flushed out a little bit. Raise the age limits on social security so fewer people qualify or die before they qualify.  And don't forget to cut those taxes for rich people because they are so full of the christian spirit and always use the extra cash to create jobs for poor people.

As they take care of the rich, cut taxes and yank the safety net for women and children, these same legislators are rolling back the regulations designed to protect poor people in the future, allowing the pillaging of America to continue unabated. The financial gang rape of America  has never stopped amid this economic crisis and recession. The rich guys can still buy 100,000 dollar toilets to complement their designer desks in their little used offices located in the financial centers of the world.

Greed is still good in America as we prepare to sell our stock exchanges to Germany and ship jobs over the ocean allowing consumers in the Far East to drive supply and demand, causing prices to sky rocket world wide.  Kasich has Ohio on the block. He's already costed out how much he can make by selling the Ohio turnpike. What's next, I-75 or 71? If he gets his way in Ohio, he will have a whole new pool of indentured servants to work the toll booths at $7.25 an hour, or less, if he thinks that's too much money for a booth clerk to make.

I guess I could stomach tightening my own belt even more if the pain were spread around equally. Equally, meaning Congress foregoes its own pay, automatic pay raises and health care while they wrestle with mine. Or, Congress takes measures to really force the banks and wall street to get off their golden piss pot and start funding the economic recovery of America. I mean these so called financial raiders had all the balls in the world when they were screwing people and laughing all the way to Aruba. Why are they suddenly so shy about making the one investment that would bring this country back. Wouldn't that be a win-win situation?

Don't you have to spend money to make money? Why are the banks being allowed to simply stockpile the money? What are they waiting for....all the poor people to die? It's certainly not for a "complexion change" on Capital Hill. The complexion paled visibly in this past election and the war on poor people got worse...literally broke out into the open.

Why won't Congress tell the boys in the backroom that it is time to give back and do their part? Don't they understand that by turning all of the world  into a  bankrupt ghetto it becomes a very dangerous place for rich guys with bling. People are marching on state capitals, now. Even Stevie Wonder can see the next target....the federal government and after that, the gated complexes of the rich but not necessarily famous. With all the cutbacks going on...there simply aren't enough police, security guards or mercenaries to go around to protect all the exclusive enclaves where rich boys hide.

The war on poor people has hit stride. Globalization of the job market is continuing unchecked...outsourcing of jobs is continuing unabated....wage freezes are spreading....health care costs are continuing to rise because the feds won't penalize the big insurance or pharmaceutical companies....what little regulation Obama tried to put in place is being rolled back...the corporate raiders and investments pirates are once again being unshackled....

Hell....we're going to have to start another war in order to recoup some of our losses. This one will be against Iran while riding shotgun for Israel and come with mandatory conscription otherwise known as the draft. After all, how else do you employe masses of poor people at a job that will routinely cull the herd, quietly, legally and in the name of patriotism.

Kill that deficit in no time at all....

Wisconsin-A Call to Revolution

Wisconsin is in turmoil because the GOP has finally thrown back the curtain and revealed its plan for America.  And don't laugh, Ohio. John Kasich is pursuing the same plan for the Buckeye State and so has Florida's Governor in Thief. Here, it is called JobsOhio...which has already passed...and House Bill 5..which is working its way through the statehouse as we speak.

Firing union workers....stripping away collective bargaining rights....busting unions....Funny...I don't remember any republicans or teabaggers talking about this stuff while they were campaigning.

Sounds like something Lenin or Marx or Mussolini or Mao dreamed up back in the day when America stood alone against communism, socialism and fascism. America fought two world wars, several police actions and even today stands on the border between North and South Korea in order to keep this bad stuff...this bad form of governance away from America. But it has arrived anyway and its not coming from the alleged socialist-muslim-white race hating Black man in the oval office.

The plan is obviously what its been-provide cheap labor to American corporations through globalization of the labor pool by outsourcing jobs and production, and union busting to destroy the system that created the American middle class, forcing them into low paying service jobs, while the perpetual masters of the universe laugh all the way to the bank.

There is a reason why the GOP never tells you what they plan to do to the country, before they do it. For the past four years, the only plan the republican party has put forth is to destroy Obama at any cost. They attack the man and his programs designed to help the people regain their footing on this slippery economic slope that all of us have been inhabiting for the past few years, while telling us to wait...put them back in power and they will throw the bum out and return  us to their Norman Rockwell normalcy.

 Promises...promises!

They attack his family, his faith, his intellect, denigrating him at every opportunity, challenging his ability to lead, questioning his manhood, even lambasting him for programs such as the stimulus that was created by President Bush and approved by every GOP representative on Capital Hill before Obama embraced it and put it into action.

In his efforts to generate bipartisanship in governance, Obama has embraced much of what Bush created and was signed off on by the Republican Party, prior to Obama taking power. But you'd never know it. If you listen to the lock step talking points of the right, it's the Black man who is destroying America. It is the Black man who has turned to socialism and fascism. It is the Black man who has abandoned his own Black people and revealed a long simmering hatred of his mother's white race.

And amid all this talk, the masters of wall street, sit on the money, refusing to create jobs, or put it back into circulation, claiming distrust of government-read that Obama-policies. They still control the money, and as they say...money walks...bullshit talks...

Hell, he's not even an American, nor Christian to hear them tell it. Before he was elected, Obama was the wrong kind of Christian. Now he's been stripped of all beliefs.  Despite the evidence of truth, Obama is not one of them and never will be. He's a Black man who followed the fictional American dream and  decided he could lead this country out of the economic maelstrom in which it finds itself. Yet, it never occurred to even him, just how deeply embedded racism, bigotry and general lack of regard for anyone not white, is in this country. Bigoted talking points and lack of trust in the Black man and Black people in general, fueled the midterm change in 2010. The GOP backed up by its mini-me the Tea Party, successfully took control of the house and many governorships and legislatures.

And while the vote in 2010 was not a mandate. It was a power play from the right, manipulating their base like sheperds driving their sheep herd to slaughter. It was a cowardly reversal from many impatient progressives and it was a refusal of follow through to vote again, by many Blacks who voted in 2008 for change, but lack the courage of conviction that had previously powered all civil rights changes in America.

Maybe Earl Butts was right about American Blacks...give em some loose shoes, a comfortable place to sleep and a warm place to shit...and they'll be happy..won't vote nor care what the white man is doing. Must be true...Blacks stayed home in droves, once again failing to take control of their own destiny.

As for that protest going on in Wisconsin....I'd be willing to bet all the money in my pocket, that most of the protesters, who also voted in 2010, voted to put the GOP back in power this past election, never realizing that they aren't part of the GOP equation anymore than are minorities. Poor and middle class whites don't count either, but you'd never know it the way they continue to vote and trust the rich white guys of the GOP. They are now getting what they asked for again, as  will Ohio and New Jersey in the near future. Here, in Ohio Kasich has already promised to sign the legislation once it passes.

The union busting model comes from their mythic icon Ronald Reagan. The air traffic controllers have never recovered and America's flight system remains in shambles, much less safe to fly than it used to be. The real Ronald Reagan was a crook, who raised taxes, quadrupled the deficit and left America in very bad shape when he left office. The prosperity they remember actually came from a Democrat named Bill, not that the GOP will admit it. The blatant attacks on women and their rights, the refusal to rebuild American infrastructure, fund clean energy, stop climate change, or build high speed public transportation will be the death of America and the GOP doesn't care. There is no compassion for their fellow humans, no desire to share the pain or profit. There is only greed and greed is good. Yes, the actor showed em how to do it and like lemmings they are marching blindly toward the cliff.

The era of indentured servitude and slavery has  returned to America, thanks to a fully complicit electorate. I wish Americans cared as much as the people of Egypt, South Sudan, and the Middle East. We should be following their example and marching on our own state capitols. Democracy and freedom are the guiding lights behind everything going on in the Middle East and Africa. Peaceful change and revolution...not war, like what we've perpetrated on Iraq and Afghanistan. Not like what the NeoCons want to reign down on Iran. America created the dream that everyone else in the world wants to experience.  Yet we choose to ignore our  own creation letting it rot under the carnage of the past, the Patriot Act and the bigotry cloaking 9/11.

Time for a little Dancin' in the Streets...a song from Martha and the Vandellas that the bigots back in the day  banned from radio play claiming it was a call for Blacks to riot. Maybe not then, but it could be a clarion call for change today, if we listen hard enough.

As Tracy Chapman says..talkin' bout a revolution, ya'll...real Americans, patriots, compassionate, caring people of all creeds, colors religions and orientations are welcome to participate...

Buckeye John Kasich

Will somebody please explain to me the necessity of approaching a sitting governor in the 21st century to ask him to put people of color or of non heterosexual persuasion in his cabinet? John Kasich, the newly installed governor of the great state of Ohio has chosen his cabinet and advisors. He's even bragged that he has given his aides pay raises before they go on the job.

They will be the highest paid gubernatorial  flunkies in the history of the Buckeye state and not one of them black, brown or queer. Most of them are male. Now with a 13% minority state population, you would think that John-boy would have at least one black or brown or gay friend qualified to help him out...answer a few phones...hold his coat...walk ten paces behind so the photogs can see he's not afraid of minorities.

Kenny Blackwell is still out there somewhere. Charlie Winburn is available for anything. He'd leave Cincinnati City Council in a heartbeat. I hear Michael Steele is looking for a window seat. There are lots of young up and coming minorities fresh out of college who don't remember the bad old days of racism and think being republican is the best thing to be in this allegedly non racial world. Did they all leave town for States who walk the walk instead of just talk?

It is simply amazing to me that the very people who deny the need for affirmative action, equal opportunity, civil rights and equality laws while claiming to be compassionately and Christ-like in their conservatism, with  nonracial viewpoints about life, always seem to get caught perpetrating, as we say in the ghetto.

By the way,  in this age of tightening budgets, Kasich has already killed the job-making light rail system, said "no" to federal education funds, literally screwing Ohio school districts, and supports repealing health care, as well as cutting back on medicaid and medicare.

So much for government of the people and for all of the people.

Is this Your America?

The GOP plan for the future...

Campaign rhetoric is off the charts since the mere threat of a Black man taking the White House crystallized from talk to reality. The calls from the right have often bordered on sedition, secession and in some cases, outright treason. As November 2nd draws near, the rhetoric has turned to violence, as witnessed outside the Conway/Paul debate of a couple of nights ago.

Groups of men beating up and stomping on minorities and women exercising their rights is sadly, all too common throughout American history. The only thing new about this latest occurrence was the fact that it was a white woman being stomped.

If you listen to the national news media, the so called pundits and talking heads, as well as read the polls conducted by these same entities, you get the feeling that the Democrats and Obama by proxy, are cooked. There is no chance to return to power.

You also get the feeling that America will return to “normal” whatever that is, as soon as the bums are tossed out.

Ego driven rallies are being held across the country like the one here in Cincinnati by Governor wannabe John Kasich, who conducted a GOP “victory “ rally this past Monday, when we don't vote until next week.

Congressman John Boehner has already reportedly picked out the new drapes for his new office as Speaker of the House, replacing the vilified Nancy Pelosi. Again, the people have not yet spoken.

Kentucky Congressman Mitch McConnell has already said there will be no bi partisan governance nor compromise WHEN the GOP returns to power on November 3rd.

The GOP has laid out a number of things that will happen following their swearing in:
John Boehner will make the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% permanent, thereby increasing the deficit that he rails about now, by 3 trillion dollars....He has no plan to pay for those tax cuts, by the way.

In fact, all GOP members of Congress are on record wanting to increase the deficit by extending the tax cuts.

Boehner will have the age limits changed on social security. He wants you to work longer before you get your money...and it is your money..you worked for it and saved it. Boehner will also vote to privatize social security, placing it at the mercy of the winds of wall street.

Boehner will cut non defense federal spending, taking it back to pre stimulus 2008 levels. This move will stifle any growth that has been achieved since implementation of the stimulus package...a package created by the Bush Administration and passed by Boehner and company before Obama came to power.

The stimulus was good thing when Bush was in office...now it's a bad thing...regardless of how it is helping the economy recover....because it was put into effect by Obama.

No the stimulus did not create jobs as promised. But then it really wasn't big enough either. However it did keep things from getting worse.

The bloated defense budget complete with spending on two illegal wars will remain tact, according the GOP, siphoning money away from the needs of the American people. It's like pouring sand down a rat hole...useless.

The GOP says it will stop illegal immigration....how? Don't know...their billion dollar boondoggle of a security fence is not working and will probably be dismantled, according to recent reports out of Homeland Security.

Increasing troops along the border is one way...but then you come back to that problem of raising taxes to pay for it.

Some members of Congress just simply want to close the borders and deny citizenship to children born on American soil to undocumented people, which flies against the very definition of American.

The real truth is that fewer people are coming to America due to the lousy job situation here and better enforcement along the borders. The question always has been what to do about the 12 million undocumented already here, who work and pay taxes by the way.

The GOP in congress says it will repeal the health care reform law....block campaign finance reform....repeal wall street regulations.....deny further unemployment benefits to those still out of work....keep DOMA in place as the law of the land....refuse to make ENDA law....keep DADT as the rule for the American military.

This is what the GOP is promising to do. Add these promises to the list of things the GOP/Tea Party candidates want to do, such as:

Change the United States Constitution

Implement a National religion

Shut down the Depts of Education, Veterans Administration, Environmental Protection Agency

Gut the social security surplus

Do away with medicaid and drastically cut back on medicare

Repeal the minimum wage

Repeal Roe v Wade

Impeach Obama

You have to ask yourself....is this the America that you really want to live in?

Vote November 2nd!

Friday Rap- I'm Tired Edition

You know if this were any other country on the planet....enclaves like Beverly Hills, Wilmette, Indian Hill, The Upper East Side, North Hampton to name just few....would have gone up in flames by now during this economic crisis...I mean we Americans are the only poor people in the world who defend a rich man's right to screw us over time and time again.

We send our kids to fight illegal wars, while they send theirs to Oxford or St. Andrews, or someplace in Canada...

We castigate each over whether or not they should have tax breaks...nevermind that it never...ever trickles down to us....ever...

We fight each other over race and religion calling each other names on the 24/7 news cycle....while they sit back and watch the dust up...

We sit back and argue about whether or not Barbie has a brain, rather than condemn our patriarchal hierachy's continuing fascination with stupid, useless women....and yes...it's a sex thing....men don't want to marry or be led by the Sarah Palins and Palin clones of the world...they simply want to fuck them and go home to their trophy wives.

We women outnumber men as voters...yet we are still begging them for permission to control our own bodies and make a living wage paycheck.

I'm tired of Black people who stand up and say they are “tired of defending this president.” as if he really was Barack the Magic Negro and hasn't pulled off the magic trick to make everybody happy and content and equal....

I'm tired of Negroes who don't understand that Obama winning the White House was the equivalent of winning a battle...not a war...

I don't understand why Obama won't issue an executive order halting DADT...but heckling him for it...is like a dog biting the hand of the one who feeds him....stupid and childish...

And yes, I'm frustrated with some of his policy choices....but given the alternative....I will defend him until he leaves office...I may punch a few holes in the wall from time to time...but hey, that's life...

Life happens....not necessarily when you want it...but when it's supposed to..

Bishop Eddie Long

Question: Does the entire Black community suffer from fag hag-itis? This homophobe was preening in the mirror ya'll...Those pics reminded me of Calvin Lockhart as Frankie J Parker in the movie Melinda. You know the scene I'm talking about.....Parker looking at himself in the mirror...”you are one pretty muthafucka.”

How many of these sorry ass closet cases have to tumble out of their personal prisons before the Black community wakes up and starts to deal with its rampant and virulent homophobia.

It's not a sin to be who you are....it's the truth....

Men who work the religion hustle are not men of god....they are no different then the corporate raiders who plunder America Monday through Friday, leaving the religious pimps to work the weekends.

The Black community must begin to think for itself and stop looking for a slave master, a miss daisy, or a white man or preacher or a Black president to save them....

Slaves were emancipated in 1865...isn't it time some of you started acting like it....

Pledge to America

No different than the Contract on America from 1994...I'm getting tired of the GOP thinking I'm stupid...that all of us are still stupid...

Waiting.....

For all the old people of the teabagger movement to build a bonfire and toss in their social security cards, medicare cards including plan B, and their social security checks....If they truly want to live in a free market society...they should lead the way...don't cha think?

Still waiting...

For the GOP in congress to give back their health care benefits and pensions since they want to repeal health care for us and cut government spending for everyone except their rich cronies...

John Kasich is running for Governor of Ohio

The man from Lehman brothers is running ads touting his balancing of the federal budget back in the 90's when he was a congressman...

He was chairman of the Budget committee when the Federal Government did balance the budget and run a surplus, which Dubya promptly squandered on two illegal wars and tax cuts for his friends and family...

What Kasich is not telling you in his ads is that he was in Congress while Democrat Bill Clinton was president and it's the president who gets the credit....not the Republican Budget Committee Chairman.

His ad leaves the impression that he did all that heavy lifting by himself....

If Kasich ran for congress today...he would probably have to run as a Democrat because the GOP and teabaggers would find him too liberal to be a republican..

Besides Kasich was the man who convinced Ohio to invest with Lehman Brothers causing old seniors to lose their pensions big time...

I'm still in Strickland's corner....and Justin Coussoule who is running against John Boehner...and Steve Driehaus...who is being challenged by the hirsute challenged Steve Chabot..

Another retread named Rob Portman is running, too...He was Dubya's budget man....Now he wants to be Senator....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
